I'm game for drafting him. As long as we fire Whiz and convince Kelly to come here!

The prevailing theory is the Titans won't draft Mariota because he doesn't fit their offense and TB WILL draft Winston #1 overall. The problem is, do the Jets take that chance because if we DO take Mariota, is Geno their starting QB again? I think Houston isn't looking for a QB and think they got their guy when they traded for Mallett.

The other thing is, how high are the Raiders on Leonard Williams and do they wanna move up 1 spot to get him? I don't see how anyone could think LW is not a top 5 talent and one of the few blue chippers in the draft.

I think there is a real possiblity we take Mariota (assuming Winston goes first) simply because he is a real talent and it takes a lot of pressure off of Whiz and Webster to WIN next year considering Mariota would have to sit at least a year unless Whiz can make huge changes to his system to run an offense similar to what Seattle does.

I think the Jets are our most likely trade partner for Mariota but I could also see us dropping down a spot to let the Raiders get LW for a 2nd rnd pick (and we kick back a 4th). If the Jets have a good but not great offer to move up to the #2 pick (real value but not double paying for it), we should take it unless we want Mariota. Either way, we probably should have at least 2 trade down avenues (Jets for Mariota or Raiders for LW). The only way I see this going wrong (because I don't trust our front office) is to trade back with the Raiders and THEN have the Raiders trade out of the #2 spot with the Jets and gets a better deal, we take Gregory and the Raiders still get LW and we look like fools AGAIN!!!

Since Chip has an NFL job I'd be fine with firing Whiz and hiring Gus Malzahn. He took a CB and turned him into a QB and went to the National Championship Game his first year as coach.

the kid is really dedicated and clean off the field too. Mariota wants to prove that he is worth it because of his bloodlines and heritage back home. Im not sure about all of you but if Winston goes #1, i am all for taking Mariota, the kid will be good i think

I wouldn't hate Mariota in TN, I just have a hard time seeing Whiz bending and catering to the rookie. I feel like its going to be a clash of Titans similar to Fisher and McNair/Young.

Because of our coach we never got the most from any of our QB's since we became the Titans. Best one was probably 2011 when Hasselbeck and Palmer were here.

Well say we did trade with the Raiders ... We would probably burn as much time as possible off the clock before closing the deal. We just shouldn't leave the Raiders with enough time to work out a trade.

How about we trade down to 4 with the Raiders so that they can take LW. We pick up a 2nd and give up a 4th like you mentioned.

Then with Mariota still on the board, and 2 potential suitors for him (us and the redskins), we still might be able to work out a deal for the Jets 6th pick ... maybe the Jets get nervous and give us a good deal at that point.

of course there is always the chance that they trade with the Jags and jump us to get him

Does it seem to you that having Whiz really limits us on personnel decisions, especially QB? I mean, I understand having a preference on how you want your QB to be, but with so few options out there for pocket passers any other person would be willing to adjust. By the Whiz definition of a QB, and knowing what we know now, we could never draft, sign, or trade for Russell Wilson, Kaepernick, etc.

Whiz is hard to operate under as its his way or no way, but like Ive said before, we've tried it the other way with Munchak and gotten nowhere catering to our players strengths, so I dont mind him burning one season if the rest can be productive.

But he does need to wise up on certain things like blowing timeout or not using timeouts. Clock management is an easy concept, he was terrible at it in 2014.

As for kaepernick, he's not that good if he's not outrunning guys, Id certainly hope Whiz wouldn't want him.
