OK, I have been watching a series that Chase Goodbread does on NFL scouts & where they are going to be for a given week. There have been 2 weeks that no Titans scouts have been at games!! Now is it possible that they could have been at games without Goodbread finding out?? I guess it is possible, but HIGHLY unlikely. As these scouts have to request passes for these games a week in advance & are usually VERY visible. It is UNACCEPTABLE to me as a fan to think that ANY week there is not a Titans' scout out searching under every possible rock to find a hidden talent. Over & over again I see winning teams on this list at multiple games each week. Even teams with not so great records are at more than one game. The Titans' have RARELY been reported at more than one game. Goodbread has been good about reporting which games the Titans have been at. I see about one a week. I only recall one week where they were at 2 games.

This is driving me nuts guys!! As bad as our roster is, and given the amount of talent we need desperately; how can our GM not DEMAND the scouts be over thoroughly diligent???!!!! I just do not get it!

I have been a Warehouse Supervisor for over 12yrs. My boss tells me religiously. I know, or should have known what all my employee are doing. The same applies to Ruston. If he is aware of this, he should be fired! If he is not, well that may just be worse considering our record.

That is NOT good, but not surprising. Do we even HAVE scouts?

This draft is loaded with pass rush & Dline potential. This is an area that we have needed help for quiet some time. Not having a scout at every game these guys are playing is inexcusable in my opinion.

Gut created a thread discussing the pass rusher in the draft. He has given a lot of information on the guys that could go early. Gut IMO is one of the guys that could replace our GM &/or Scouts today and make us a better team. I am passionate about my Titans as well as many of the regulars on this site. Gut takes it to another level with research, information, & insight. I would be far less concerned if we could see just a small level of the same commitment from our GM & Scouts!

Time to turn in that resume at Titans' Head Quarters!

    SHOCKING INFORMATION!!!!!

Not really... been complaining about our "scouts" for YEARS now. This actually explains a lot of our issues...

What does a scout learn by being at the game vs. watching the tape? Just asking (not disagreeing), but trying to understand why travelling and watching the game live is useful vs. spending time watching tape.

One of the real things I would want, as a scout, is to see how the players we are interested in act on the sidelines, interacting with other players & coaches, & how they react on the sideline to adversity. A players body language can say a lot about their personality. It is not always the case, but it can be.

I also think a lot can be lost on tape. The speed of a player may look better or worse on tape VS in real time. There is also a chance that one of the plays a player makes, or does not make will not be caught on tape. I know there are people being paid to make sure they get an accurate representation on tape; but the scouts are also getting paid to be there. I do not know if they are allowed to interact with the players, but if so a lot can be attained by those interactions.

It can be better at times to watch tape I am sure. However, with the shape this roster is in our Scouts should be watching every live snap & as much film as humanly possible.
