actually, the NFL gave him a predicted 3rd round grade after his 16.5 sack season and thats why he didnt jump

Can’t agree more. Every year we get hyped up over a bunch of late round guys who end up doing squat.

Our defense should be vastly better this season with all we’ve added.
Yeah, vrabel should be able to dial up some pretty exotic blitzes now. Cyp can’t cover, but he is a decent blitzer.

I’m definitely gonna have to pony up the money to the nfl to get game pass this year. I won’t watch most games live, as they are in the middle of the night, but can watch them during my “office hours” at school. lol

We still need a lot of things to come together. We are relying on a lot of guys who haven’t shown it yet, especially on offense.

If Davis and Taylor play like we think they can, and mariota takes a good step forward, and Henry improves a little... we will be a force to be reckoned with.

While I still like the pick to some extent, and more so the individual himself, I think in reflection as the draft goes on it's pretty clear this was not the best move. The way it looks, nobody wants to take a chance on a pass rusher in this draft, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if Landry was still there. If not, a bevy of other guys like Key, Hubbard, and Sweat would have been. Giving up a 3rd is a pretty steep price, especially when we already have no 4th and are still in desperate need of a competent SS.

It looks like we're going to have to stick it out with Cyprien this year unless we are lucky enough to find a gem in the later rounds, or the front office stops being idiots and signs Eric Reid.

I like the player more than most on this board, but I do not like the trade. There was no movement on edge rushers at the time and Lorenzo Carter and Josh Sweat both made it to 57.

    Oh well.

I agree... I get that hindsight is 20/20 and I hope I'm wrong but I just feel like I'd rather have Lorenzo Carter and a 3rd rounder...

Word is that the Patriots wanted Landry. Jrob wanted him more....gotta go get him or watch him go to another team.

Why are Sweat and Carter being mentioned in the same sentence as Landry? Their best years are about in line with Landry's injury-riddled one.
