Yeah that's the thing about hot chicken. It can sometimes vary from day to day/order to order. I've had some regular "hot" that was just blazing before.

    a fellow pepperhead

I stop enjoying the heat once it goes beyond harbanero based. I cannot eat a harbanero but I enjoy many sauces with it as a base.

I eat jalapenos like crazy during the summer. Last year I grew 20+ jalapeno plants and put back nothing. I just ate the harvest as it grew - lol

I do have a garden pepper story if anyone is interested

So last year I went to the garden center, Martin's in particular - a local business, and bought tomatos, jalapenos, and a variety of hotter peppers ( harbaneros, Caribbean hot ect). The hotter peppers are dried and put in the freezer to add heat to soup, chili whatevers. I only need to do this every third or so years.

Anyhow so I plant my peppers and I have the hot peppers at the end away from everything else. As the summer goes along I notice 2 of the plants are just not looking like anything I am familiar with at all. The peppers are all knotty are bright red but shaped like a harbanero with a tail. I mean these peppers scream 'DO NOT TOUCH' so when the harbaners turn orange, meaning they are ready to harvest, I take a picture of my mutant peppers and send it to a friend of mine asking for an opinion.

[IMG]He said they were probably Fing Ghost or even possibly Carolina Reapers!

I looked it up and best I could tell the Garden center or their supplier had a couple of Ghost plants in a harbanero tray. They are bought 4 small plants for like $1.79 or something.

I will say this - They are absolutely as hot as advertised and they totally are scary looking. Zero chance I would take a bite out of one.

I prepped them for drying wearing gloves and goggles and put the dehydroater in the detached garage. The smell would take your breath away.

And my dried 'mixed peppers 2015' are off the chain hot!

Those are called Mexican Prostate Ticklers.
Give em to your date along with some Spanish Fly and she'll do anything to put the fire out!

I've see GoT eating raw jalapeƱos like they were cherry tomatoes.
I like japs but even they can be pretty fiery when raw!

I casually wondered why they were called "ghost" peppers. Now I know.
