Its not his call though. The coaches have to make that call but he helped the team the most as a QB so why would they move him. They have jobs on the line and there job is to win.

Then I am transferring to Montana Tech to play WR. It's my career I am worried about, not theirs.

If he is good enough to make it as a WR then he will regardless of draft position. Maybe he loved Michigan and wanted to get his degree.

Think about it this way is there any guarantee that we would know his name if he wasn't this hyper elusive QB? Yes his skill set is more suited to other positions but being "Shoe lace" at Michigan put him on the map.

...except for Joe Hamilton (who was really short), all those guys made it to the NFL.

Michael Robinson played receiver for at least 2 years at Penn State. He wouldn't have made it to the NFL if he hadn't become a successful college quarterback. I think it is better to be a college quarterback who can convert to receiver than to be a mediocre receiver that doesn't stand out.

WTF? Because you don't play college football just to get to the nfl.

Prior to this year Robinson had an incredible career. Pro material or not who cares about that playing at Michigan is big time and he was big time. He was a legend at one of college football's great programs.

He's not an nfl caliber player at any position but he will always have that.

This is an issue for high school recruits all the time.

Landon Collins was the first or 2nd best safety recruit in the country last year but also a good enough RB to play and start at a Sun belt school. If his ego got the best of him he could be at Troy or Lafayette but he went to Alabama and will compete for a starting spot next year as a soth. He would have never been an nfl RB but can be a 1st or 2nd rd pick as a safety in a few years. He did the right thing.

Players make those choices all the time but given Robinson's success at Michigan how can anybody say he did the wrong thing?

No no no, I didn't mean it the way it sounded.

Let's say you have a college QB that is 5'11" that runs a 4.3, played every position in High School, and was so good of an athlete, he could go to any college in the nation.

Well this specific QB isn't really that accurate, and is considered by most to not be NFL QB material from day 1. Any person knows that a QB that is 5'11" and isn't that accurate of a passer isn't NFL QB material.

But this specific QB runs like a ball shot out of a cannon. All scouts say he could be one hell of a WR in the NFL and would project to be a 2nd round pick if he made the switch.

Would you honestly waste your time trying to become a pro QB, or would you make the switch? I'm sorry folks, but I'm making the switch to play WR, even if it's not the best interest in the team. After all, it's my career we're talking about.

PS - The "specific QB" is not Denard if that's what you're thinking. It pertains to anyone.
