The problem with him being a teams back up is that as soon as that teams starting qb starts doing bad, ppl will call for vince to be the starter. Most coaches dont want that controversy and they know he is not a back up qb. However know one is willing to take the chance either because they are afraid that they cant handle the pressure of making a decision.

Just a little FYI; I guess Marino, Kelley, McNair and Cunningham weren't NFL QBs either since they got the same Wonderlic score as Young, a 15

Yeah, this has been beaten to death, but VY keeps resurfacing. Being an NFL starting QB is rarified air, truly a gift. VY didn't see it that way. You look at the most successful QB's in the NFL, they are all true students of the game. Wonderlic aside, VY didn't honor the position or the opportunity given to him. You can't pin his lack of focus, concentration, passion, desire solely on Fisher. Here's a guy who sat on a sideline bench of an NFL team, staring off into space & listening to his iPod - if for no other reason then good PR, he should have been at Fisher's side with a clipboard pretending to be interested in what was happening on the field. I respect that VY wants to play, is trying to make amends for his past, but, as most others, I believe that train has left a long time ago.

And he sat out last year! This guy does not love the game the way he needs to to be an NFL starting QB.

He's not content with a backup role. For some bizarre reason he expects a job to be handed to him. Does he realize he's not worth the effort of putting up with anymore? Who's going to want to take on that circus?

Vince, from a former fan, go to Canada! Go somewhere, stop wasting your time sitting around in Texas, you can play football, go play football somewhere. And so what if it's not in the NFL. Playing in another league does not ban you from the NFL, go use the CFL as a launching point to resurrect your career.

He's too good for the CFL but if he wants to start somewhere that is the best option for him. If he is content with being a back up qb, even though hes better than a majority of starters, he could definitley be a very viable back up (i.e beating the Superbowl Giants with the eagles).

See right there is another way how the media has portrayed him to be a bad guy! Fisher and CO said numerous of times that he was still in on the plays and what not. Was he standing on the sideline with his headphones in? Yes. Do we know what those headphones were connected too? No! It could have been connected in to the same one that the qb was getting.

I'd take him. As our #3 over Rusty Smith.

That would be funny b/c then our QB depth chart would be completely the opposite of whos the best qb. 3rd string, VY, would be the best, Fitz is 2nd best, and Locker is 3rd best.....

It'll be ok, Vince will retire some day for good and you wont have to drink yourself to sleep watching highlights of the 2006 Rose Bowl.
