Well, the idea is that he would be here for only a year or two. He's actually a pretty good pass blocker. I don't know how you came to that conclusion. He'd be a stop gap solution for sure though, if it came down to it. It wouldn't have to be like the Hutch signing, because even if he did play like Hutch, he'd probably be depth anyway, depending on what we do in the draft. Remember though, there have been guys like Hutchinson (who wasn't that bad anyway, and did us a favor by hanging it up when he realized his ability wasn't there anymore), and there have been Kevin Mawaes and Fred Millers.

Cant just look at the numbers. Eye test will tell u alot on how crap he played in pass protection. If we bring him in , its not like my opinion would do anything lol. I just rather bring in someone young to start is all.

Larry Warford or Barrett Jones in round 2 solves all problems.

I vote Jones since he can play ALL positions on the OL.

I can respect the eye test. It's not like I watched him on every single play he played for the Jets his entire career. Still, I've never seen him do something in pass protection that really glared out at me. And how can you not respect the metrics? He has allowed an average of 14 hurries a season over the last five seasons, and 14 total hurries last season... It's not a top performance by any means, but it's not terrible either.

I would like someone young in to start as well. All the same, I would like our options open in the draft and not see us tied to a guard in the first round.

And besides... If we sign another guard or center, maybe we can release Amano?

I hope we dont take a guard first round. We could get one in the 2nd. #1 i think we should go BPA. After this FA period, i dont see how we should be tied to ONE need anymore. FO stepped up and did its thing and still are.

We are releasing him no matter what. I think the Titans are being generous to the other 31 teams by not releasing him til training camp lol. Wouldnt wish him on nobodies team haha

I think we're still pretty hard up for a guard or center. Lost Hutch and Harris and while neither were studs, they were better than the nothing we have. I guess we could re-sign Leroy Harris... but why?
