I would be more upset if we had a good shot at making the playoffs, but at 33 our 6th is really more valuable to us to be honest. It sucks, but I am still feeling pretty well about our off season so far.

 

In reality, we weren't even in the bottom 25%.

 

Not too hard when we don't have a 6th round pick.

 

1. He's in the last year of his deal, so unless we're going to re-sign him it's a waste of time because we're not challenging for anything next year.
2. His $6 million salary is 1/4 of our available cap space this season.
3. We don't have a sixth round pick in this draft.

 

AGAIN, we like to trade 2nd round picks for 3rd round draft picks (cook, NE) but no one wants to give up a 6th round pick for a proven guy. Seriously, no wonder why we never win (NFL SuperBowls)

 

Haha. If we signed this guy in FA to a 1 yr deal for 6 mil people would go bat **** crazy. We overpaid, he's slow, he's old, he's an ex raven, wah. He makes no sense for this team, that is still rebuilding.

 

That's before the move Smiths salary off the books with the KC trade.

 

He's a fast TE or a slow WR.
