Let's remember that any player with double digit sacks or close to that will demand big time money. Are we going to pay another DE $7M a year? Abraham would be the exception because of his age and i would not mind having him to rotate with Morgan and Wimbley. Good leadership and competition there.

William Hayes for $6-7M a year for 4 years with a $9M SB? Is he worth that? Sh*t no!

Floyd Reese signed 3 guys that nobody else wanted that really gave us a lot of great play. Tony Brown, Dave Ball and of course KVB. Is there a guy like that in this group? Can Rustin find that guy?

We might need to look at how we can improve our pass rush in increments. Canty is a little better pass rusher than Marks. Jason Jones could give us a couple of extra sacks. Can we get even more sacks from Ayers and Brown?

We were 11th in sacks last year so pass rush is not the main issue. We need to stop the run and cover better.

Cliff Avril was tagged by the lions and signed it. He had turned down a 3 year $30M offer which is crazy but i think he wants a longer term deal even if it averages less per year because it means a larger SB.

Just amazing to think that a good not great pass rusher is turning down $10M a year.

I don't see CB as a huge need. McCourty and Verner weren't bad last year, they just never had any help over top from our safeties. Plus a poor pass rush... = way too long in coverage. No CB would survive that.

I am all for bringing in a great pass rusher, but, wasn't that what Wimbley was supposed to be?

Yeah... how'd that turn out :-(

I guess it was just one year, but I was so happy thinking that Kam was going to be our 10+ sack guy. Silly me.

You mean deffinately injured McCarthey. I love the guy but mans got serious injury issues that date back to college.

I still can't believe people get on Wimbley, he got double teamed EVERY play, how can he be effective with that happening?

The fact he commands so much attention pretty much says he's good.

You wouldn't knock Revis for not getting interceptions would you? People are scared to throw his way, same as they're scared to let Wimbley get 1-on- with a Tackle.

I wonder how long McCarthy sticks around. We need some consistency and the only thing that's consistent about him is how injury prone he is...

Hey, I'm not hating on the dude. I was just slightly disappointed with the #s he put up, regardless of double teams. Six sacks is still pretty solid for being doubled alot, however... he still is getting paid an average of 7mil year -- I expected a little more.

This is more of the reason we need to get a true 1-tech DT in FA or the draft, this is our 2nd biggest need... I made a thread about it in the draft section FYI lol

If you don't look at the sack number Wimbley is a great DE. He draws guys off the DT's so they can do things. Wimbley is the one getting TE's on him so Zach Brown can contribute.

Without Wimbley we're a much worse team.
