I hear that if the niners lose Goldson they'll be looking to replace him with a Matt Elam-like safety in the second. This is bad news for us.

Swearinger in the third. Gonna be fine.

Thanking God that the 49ers announced they won't tag Goldson after we make our safety signing. (Sarcasm)

I'm pretty high on Swearinger but knowing my paranoid ass I'll be freaking out when we pass on a safety in the first 2 rounds.

Swearinger has been my fav safety and I'm still not sure why he isn't getting more attention while Elam is basically the same player with worse hands... Gonna go early?? I don't get it.

At the same time, box safety is nearly dead in this league. Swearinger would be a good sub package and Nickel LB for some extra thump in those lighter sets.

Sometimes I think scouts kinda just fall in love with the look of a guy. If you're looking for thumper at safety, Elam just looks the part. Swearing measured in at 5'10" ( I thought he was like 6'2" for some reason after watching tape on him lol), ran a 4.67, and only hit 225 17 times. That explains why he's not getting more love. I'm loving it though. It's nice to know you have a great shot at potentially the best safety in the class because no one knows about him.

Mind you, I don't think he is the best safety in the class for this newer style football, but he's a very solid pick from day two and beyond. 4.67 is faster than the average LB. Has better hands and is shiftier. Not the most fluid hips but can turn and track the ball well. Was the tone setter for SC. Dude will play in this league somewhere. I hope it's for us. Even as a rotational/sub package guy.

Elam nearly mercs people, but couldn't catch a ball thrown directly to his hands. Personally, I doubt we pull the trigger on a safety in the second UNLESS someone really falls. Then, it's 3rd and beyond for us.
