The Titans are currently scheduled to make six picks in April’s NFL Draft, including the 10th overall pick in the first round.

The Titans will also be rewarded compensatory picks for players they lost last offseason, and they’re expected to receive several picks in that process as well, including a third rounder for cornerback Cortland Finnegan, who signed a lucrative deal with the Rams.

The Titans should also receive compensatory picks for defensive lineman Jason Jones (Seattle) and William Hayes (St. Louis), possibly a fifth or sixth rounder for Jones, and a seventh round pick for Hayes. That would give the Titans nine picks in the draft.

Teams are eligible to receive compensatory draft picks if it is determined, through a formula developed by the NFL, they lost better players than they were able to acquire during the previous year’s free agency period. The Titans signed defensive end Kamerion Wimbley and guard Steve Hutchinson last offseason, but they don’t count in the formula since they’d been released.

The compensatory picks will be rewarded at the NFL owners meetings, scheduled for March 17-20.

    JCBRAVE here you go.

It will be nice to land an extra 3rd, 5th, and 7th.

3rd could potentially be a starter mid-year, if not solid depth.

5th round players from 2010: Michael Hoomanawanui, Kam Chancellor, Ricky Sapp, Kendrick Lewis, Perish Cox, Zoltan Mesko, Austen Lane, John Skelton, Riley Cooper... 2011: Karl Klug, Jacquizz Rodgers, Dejon Gomes, Denarius Moore, Jeremy Kerley, Richard Sherman.. Good players can come out of those 5ths.

This team could use a few hammers, hand them out to the players like Griffin.
