Personally, it would be a huge thing if we could trade back and pick up an extra 2nd rounder or even more. If we dropped to the late teens, early twenties we could do some unconventional things

    1. Eddie lacy
    2. Larry Warford
    2. Johnathan Cyprien
    3. Brandon Williams
    3. Jordan Poyer
    4 Marcus Wheaton

Kind of a dream scenario for us. Hit a lot of needs with solid talent.

Its not like the Titans haven't tried to get a power back ... like someone else said they just picked the wrong one in Harper. I guess they thought that since he was bigger he could fill that role. To bad he runs like he weighs 180 and not 230.

While I do agree that a power back would be a good addition, it would be pointless without fixing the OL. Although it sounds like Munch is finally ready to admit the problem there and get serious about getting the OL straight. So assuming that we do, then adding a big back is a great idea. We can dump Harper and Ringer.

I'm all for drafting OL's, DB's and DL's this years draft. I have a feeling we will draft a RB early (hopefully 2nd and not 1st) if we're in the position to pick a good one. I just think we can solve this power-back issue with FA.

I honestly don't see us taking a RB early .... but then again that probably means we take one early lol

Ivory will likely be tendered by the Saints. Pierre Thomas will likely get released and would be a nice pickup.

I always thought the change of pace concept for running backs was way overrated. Any good back that can push CJ for carries would be fine with me.

So you are basically talking about a 10 and 10 situation where we trade back about 10 spots or so with our first pick and trade up with the second into the late first rd.

I like your list but if we had the 17th-20th pick and Warmack was off the board i would take Warfard there. Hope that Lacy was still around for the 2nd pick.

I think Lacy could be there at 39 for a couple of reasons.

    1. Size, he is not exceptionally big. He's not 240 he is around 220. Similar in size to Mark Ingram.
That's plenty large to succeed in the nfl but scouts may view him as basically and primarily a power back and more in the Cedric Benson Shonne Green mold not the Adrian Peterson mold.

    2. Was it the line? Both Ingram and Richardson have sported Eddie George like yard per carry averages. Granted Richardson played behind the 20th best run blocking line(according to football outsiders) and had broken ribs more than half the season but Cleveland fans expected more explosiveness from him.

    3. The speed. Lacy is projected to run about a 4.53 40. That's not normally 1st rd caliber. Teams are looking for that kind of size with sub 4.5 speed in the first rd.

Look, Alabama's MO since the 1980s is that they are quintessential power running team. A lot of backs have posted really nice numbers for the school, were even 1st team all sec but were just backups in the pros. Lassix, Sherman Williams, Coffee, i could go on.

All that said i think Lacy could be better than Ingram or Richardson in the nfl. He's very shifty, resourceful and is smart in using his blockers. You could compare him to Shaun Alexander who was 218 lbs and not ultra fast but had an outstanding nfl career.
