But do you think Locker would have been as effective as RG3 in their offense? We could play the what-if game all day long I suppose. But just based on what I saw with my own two eyes, I'd say RG3 is a much better QB than Locker at this point. Hopefully he steps his game up in 2013.

I think this team has the talent to contend, maybe not win it all but we should at least be making the playoffs.

Locker has shown us what he is capable of in a few games, hes inconsistent but he was essentially a rookie this past season. He finished with a QB rating of 74. I know hes not all that popular on here but ffs give the kid a chance, at least hes not throwing his pads in the stadium and driving around town trying to off himself.

We all know what CJ can do (granted I still dont think hes worth paying that much for)

We have good receivers in Washington, Britt and Wright

A tight end that can be a match up nightmare

An offensive line that well... just ****ing sucks. This is the major problem on offense, along with some inexperience.

A defense that has a good LB corps if Crutches can stay healthy, a defensive line that has some guys emerging, corners that are fairly good and we have two bags of crap on the field in place of players at the safety position.

If we could get a couple of good linemen and a set of decent safeties, other than piss poor coaching, I see no reason why we couldn't make a run.

And your point is what? I simply proved that teams don't need 5-6 years to go from bad to good. Why contradict the obvious?

Explaining how they improved does not justify an attitude that we are going to suck anyway so let's just dump any player who is a certain age and is paid well.

How do you know Locker won't be one of those guys next year? He played well in 2011. You can't just give up and say we are going to suck anyway.

Munch is fighting to keep his job, Webster also but maybe not to the same degree GM's get more time. Nobody, i mean nobody in this organization especially Bud is blowing the next 3 years off as rebuilding years so why act that way and dump a good player?

The erosion of the fan base is a major concern of this organization. Not so much selling all the tickets we are a few bad seasons away from where we might have blacked out games but no shows at games, empty seats and seats sold to the opposition fans.

That was a major wake up call to this organization and it really pissed off Bud. So make no mistake in thinking that this team is willing to let a good player go because they see themselves in rebuilding mode. They want a minimum of 9 wins.

You're reading way too much into my comment. I was simply answering the question you asked. "What makes us different than those teams?" A: They have legit-to-great quarterbacks.

Maybe Locker develops into that. I hope so. But as of right now, he's not there. So I remain skeptical that we are going to make the kind of jump the Skins or the Colts did. The Skins went from Rex Grossman to RG3. The Colts went from Curtis Painter to Andrew Luck. We'll have the same QB next year that we had this year.

I agree with your overall point though. I'm not saying to give up on Jake Locker. Not by any means.

I think they may try to being in a 'superstar' this offseason. The amount of Pitt fans on TNF was insane and I heard it was worse against Chicago. I bet it was like 60/40 TN which is awful.

I know this is basic but how does anybody justify firing a back for improving his production significantly over the year before? An almost 20% increase in production.

CJ ran for 196 more yards this year than in 2011 and he averaged a whole half yard more per carry. 4.5 vs 4.0.

The thing against CJ, especially early in the season, is that he was hitting all the wrong holes. After a few games he finally got it, then all the injuries messed everything up. If we bring in one or two guards I think we can get CJ to 1,500 yards which would help our passing game substantially. We cannot afford to neglect the line with a first round QB, two first round receivers, and a potential HoF back. It makes no sense to have the same issues next season. If those spots don't get addressed, I think you could seriously justify firing Munch before preseason.

I think the majority is the line is bottle necking us. Improve the line, and every position, offense and defense improves. I am waiting to call what I think our record will be, but I think we go 8-8 with no blowouts if we pick up a lineman or two. I think that is all it is going to take. Getting a time safety might get us another win.

I will say that the Chicago game was truly an embarrassment as a Titans fan. In all the games I have been to, and that started in 99, that game just made me both angry at all the loser fans that sold their tickets and frustrated that the team had played so crappy for so long that this was where we were at. It felt like the Bears and their fans just came in and owned the entire place.

I have not gotten over that game yet. I hope it left as bad a taste in the mouth of the players as it did me as a fan.

I wish we could get a stud at center. Amano coming back.... the guy was not very good to start with. Now he missed a season with an injury, he may be worse than he was in the first place.
