Bucs did not get to the SB until 2002 but they were at least good. Started making the playoffs. Which for the Bucs was huge.

Anecdotal evidence of 1 team (or even 10 teams) that happened to be good in the years after changing their uniforms means nothing. Come on. I hope people around here are smarter than that.

It's so easy to list the teams that have changed uniforms in recent years and not been good. Heck, this thread is about the Jaguars -- and they changed uniforms only a few years ago. Did they become a Super Bowl team?

I think the comments on this thread reflect Titans fans' desire to have SOMETHING change. Stating the obvious here, but MANY fans are simply tired of the product and want something to inspire some hope for change.

and let's look at the highest level of the game: SB Winners:

Ravens- basically the same uniform since their inception (one logo change early on due to copyright infringement

Giants- new-ish jerseys since the early 2000s, but they're throwbacks

    Steelers- Same uniforms since ever

    Colts-same uniforms since ever

    Saints-same uniforms since ever

Patriots- same uniforms since 2000 or so.

    Bucs- New uniforms

    Packers-same uniforms since ever

Rams- same uniforms until after they won, then were bad afterward.

So: Patriots and Bucs are the only Super Bowl winners since 2000 to have modern uniforms.

8 different teams, 2 modern uniforms. It seems like the programs that "stick with the tradition" have better success in the end.

Oh, definitely. New uniforms are more for the fans than the players.

yeah. I just think that fans have been faithful, and they should have all hands on deck on making the team better for the fans. They ain't gonna sell many jerseys when they continue to have a losing product.

BTW, I think the new Panther logo looks cheesier than their old one. The old one looks like an actual football logo, not a college freshman's photoshop project.

I will go to my grave believing that teams that stick with one uniform forever are the teams that do things the "right way." You simply can't beat a team like the Packers, which has looked exactly the same forever. It creates an awesome sense of history. Whether you're watching highlights of Super Bowl I or Super Bowl XLV, the Packers look the same -- and they always will. That's awesome. Same with teams like the Colts, Steelers and a few obvious others. That's what every team should be striving for, IMO. I'll never support teams that change uniforms every few years in order to be trendy, like the Seahawks.

The issue with the Titans is that they have already messed around with the uniform they wore in the Super Bowl, so that sense of history is already somewhat destroyed. And, frankly, that uniform was kind of ugly to begin with. It's not one that has the potential to be timeless.

Coming up with a solution is tough. What I'd like to see the Titans do is make one major uniform change and go with something timeless. That means nothing that has crazy stripes and piping, nothing all-navy (the all dark colors trend is ending) and nothing with a stupid number font that will look outdated in 5 years (like the current Titans numbers do).

I doubt they'll do that, though. What I expect them to do is go with a Nike design that will look outdated in 5 years. Then we'll have this conversation again at that point.

Ravens have a "modern" style jerz. As well as the saints. They've did minor tweaks over the years to update it. Not large entire changes. And as you said the giants is a modernized version of a throwback.. But still modern.

Tradition with the titans needs to be thrown the entire **** out the window tho. The jerz we rockin is suckin major sack. Sorry, the astronaut look is done played. I'd much rather see us do a modern oilers uni. Matter of fact, any time I play titans on madden... I go rock the throwback. It's timeless. The blue is so ridiculous like it is now and it's actually a good looking jerz. Modernize it. Get us a logo that isn't outdated in 5 years and we aight. Powder blue Jerz, white pants. Some aesthetic piping and No stupid dual color disaster on the Jerz. Timeless yet modern.

Giants aren't modernized in any way. Exact replica of what they wore way back in the day. Saints aren't modern in any way, either, unless you count pairing black pants with a black jersey as modern.
