I just can't see us going Vaccaro unless we got rid of Griffin, and we'll know that answer in about 8 days.

I'm sort of with you, but then again I'm not. For the longest I was thinking we should get the best defensive player available, but now I think Warmack might be our best bet. If he's really that much better than all the other interior lineman(and tackles from what I hear), then why not get him? Isn't it better than waiting til the 2nd where MAYBE a future starter will be sitting? Of coarse, if a guy like Star falls to us, hell yes we take him instead, but besides for that I don't really see a reason why we shouldn't take a sure shot that will immediatley come in and start for us. My other pick I wouldn't be mad about would be Dee Milliner. For some reason, I have faith in our DE's, like you...That's why my 1st round pick order would be Star/Warmack/Milliner as of right now...obviously the combine tends to change peoples' opinions lol.

First of all, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we went Warmack with our first pick. O-line is our greatest need and getting the best O-lineman in the draft should be very appealing to our front office. There's no way I would go SS at 10, even though it's arguably our greatest need. The talent at safety this year is deep, but there's not one player that really just sticks out to me(like Warmack does at G). Guys like Bacarri Rambo, TJ McDonald, Eric Reid, Phillip Thomas, Tony Jefferson and Shawn Williams are all good players that will fall to the 2nd(a few of them will fall to the 3rd too).

I do agree with you about DT though...if we can't get a guy like Star then I don't see us touching a DT til later in the draft...

I definitely see us taking o-line(Warmarck)/cornerback(Milliner) with our 1st round pick and a safety in either the 2nd or 3rd...

I think there's a great possibility this year that we trade back, especially if the top 3 DE's are off the board (Werner, Moore, Mingo) and Star is gone. Which is looking very likely. With as deep as the draft is with 1st round talent that will fall to the 2nd round, I would LOVE to pick up an extra 2nd. How far back would we have to trade? If we traded back to 15-17 is that enough, or could we package like a 6ht with our 1st to get a 2nd? I think I'd almost prefer that than picking at 10.

If not a "Star" at 10, then at least we still have a "Chance."

No more band-aids on the offensive line and no more Defensive Ends that won't be effective without a Defensive Tackle that can push the pocket.

I don't buy this depth thing people keep pushing. In 2003 there was also a lot of depth at the DT/DE position, and a lot of horrible 1st rounders because of it (11 DL taken in that round).

We need a top guy, not some depth guy that will fade away in 4 years.

The DE class this year is NOWHERE near as good as it was hyped coming into the year. You have scheme specific players in the first round, and some depth after, but not anything that's going to really make a true top end DE.

Mingo and Jones are 34 guys. Both could be gone top 15

Werner and Moore are the top 43 guys... Both could be gone top ten.

Afterward...? Ansah is a slider. Early second, with higher potential but not worth taking in the first round. Gonna make a living off being a run stopper for a season or two.

Okafore is a bull rush guy. Nothing special. Maybe a starter on a team but not a star.

Dion Jordan is a mash up player... Not sure where he fits on a pro team... 225lb???
    Montgomery is absolutely nothing special.

if we drafted vacarro we could let him play ss for a year if they dont do anything with griffen, he has the size to an plays all over the field including in the box and is better in run support than anything on our roster at the safety position
