We talked to multiple centers though and Wimbley's performance is not the question, the question is Bud being a cheap owner and he proved he wasn't cheap last offseason.

If someone comes on a Titans message board and says "I am done being a fan of this organization" or "I won't be a fan of this organization if XYZ doesn't happen" then I am going to call them a fake ass fan and ream them. That's part of the fun.

Either you are a fan of a team or you aren't. If someone can stop being a fan now then they sure missed out jumping on a Patriots or Colts or Steelers bandwagon the last decade.

Fair enough. It's fun for you to "ream them". That is the point I'm making. Your intent is to malign (or discredit) them as a product of a value system YOU adhere to. That is the epitome of egocentricity. In vernacular, you just come off as a dik.

If your jabs were fun (or even funny) they would be entertaining and I'd give you a pass. But you are being hypocritical to suggest others are "either a fan of a team or you aren't". By your standards, all posts are FINAL- a person shouldn't (or isn't allowed) to vent their frustration in absolute terms. Reminds me of provincial bucolicism "if you ain't wit us.......you agin' us...." You have many posts in the past where one could question/malign your "fan loyalty" by those standards.

I guess I wrong to think you were capable of a greater level of discourse. Different strokes for different folks- if it works for you go ahead. I'll leave it at that.

So to you, if I say I am done with the Titans, screw this organization, I will no longer cheer for the Titans, I hope they lose every game, I am going back to my pre-Titans team the Bears.

That's cool with you. Just me venting my frustration? That is what you are suggesting.

Absolutely. Them's aint fightin' words to me. :whack:

I'd wager over 95% of those folks you are referencing are still "fans" of the Titans. Their comments are the only power they have to releive their frustration with the direction and results of the franchise. Chances are when they calm down they are as avid a fan as they used to be.

There are some unique things about the Titan's franchise. We haven't won a SB. We've only been in one in 50 years. Alot of people, including myself, believe there are reasons other than "bad luck". Theories abound as to why that is. There is nothing harmful about folks offering their opinions as to why- same as there's nothing wrong with you "reaming" them if you don't agree. I just don't like discourse that maligns a person for their opinions. It's unpleasant and unnecessary.

SCREW THIS ORGANIZATION. I AM NOT A FAN OF THE TITANS. I HOPE THEY LOSES EVERY GAME. I'M GONNA BE RAMS FAN JEFF FISHER 4 LYFE.

Those are not statements of opinion. This is a Titans message board ffs. Of course people will be reamed for making comments like the above.

Guys, this franchize has been in much worse shape than it is now. And we bounced back from it. Some experiences I have had:
    • Three years in a row watching the Oilers blew a big lead in the playoffs to lose (Denver, Buffalo, KC)
    • The clown of a DC we had got into a fist fight with the OC on the sideline over absolute sillyness
    • The Oilers became the first team ever to get hammered by the salary cap. In one offseason we got rid of the fanchises best ever QB (Warren Moon), both starting DEs and one starting G. The other starting G (who is now coaching the team) retired. The team went from being tied for the best record in the league to having the worst record the following year
    • During that worst record year the HC and OC were fired leaving the new DC the most senior person on the coaching staff. The DC, a kid no one had ever heard of, was mad HC and would remain in that position for 17 years
    • The Oilers then went nomadic. Moving from Houston to Memphis to Vanderbilt to the stadium now known as LP field and becoming the Titans
    • Then everything started to get better :D
If I can stick with this team through all that you best beleive I an't goin anywhere. And I would have missed out on some fun times made that much more fun because I had the memories of the dark years.

I gotta agree with this. Bud was ready to hand the entire franchise over for a guy he liked, he's not cheap.

Plus that nice check he gave his friend Graig Stevens aka the next Jason Witten LOL
