I wanted Henry Melton, but he's not the guy who will command a double team. There really isn't any of those type of DTs available via free agency. Richard Seymour is old. Alan Branch is decent, but he's met his prime and is just 'good enough'.

Our best bet for free agency is to target Andy Levitre. Bills will use franchise tag on Byrd i'm assuming. They just resigned their other OG (about 2-3 weeks ago), over Levitre (because Urbik was cheaper). If we offer a good deal, we may be able to steal him away. He enhances the interior OL and replaces the LG position, fixing our biggest hole (just need another starting guard or center). Bills do have ~11mil in cap space, we have ~14mil.

Star Lotulelei, Johnathan Hankins, Jonathan Jenkins, and Kawann Short are the 4 DTs we should be looking at in the draft. It's possible to get any of the 4 at #10 (Short likely in the 2nd).

Free agency is key for this draft if we can pick up some solid vets to help shape our young team. It would be nice to get Levitre and Dorsey. Those two pick ups alone will allow more flexibility in the draft. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't we have to spend money this year to meet the new guidelines?

Yep, we could use legit FAs at DT, CB, SS, and OG/C. If we could get 1 or 2 of those, that would be huge.

We have to target a safety and an OG in FA because we really need 2 of each of those positions. I think safety is the least likely position to find a starter from in the draft without reaching for one. I think our best bet is to go stud DT in the 1st and then OG/C in the 2nd.

One DT that I really like is Brandon Williams out of Directional Missouri St. A big bodied penetrator style DT.

The goal of FA should be to fill all your needs so that you can go BPA in the draft. I just think we have too many holes to fill this yr and are going to need to grab starters out of the 1st and 2nd rnds at least. But we should be able to get starting caliber OG/C or DT in the 2nd rnd.

Absolutely I would. Dude may be a d!ck but he was the best DT we've ever had. Him at even 70% effort is better than what we have now.

Good luck getting 70% effort. Hell, Good luck getting 7% effort.

The only player in modern era blackballed unfairly is Kevin Mawae.

I agree. Mawae still had at least 2 really good seasons left in him. Losing him and replacing him with Amano was definitely one of Fisher's worst moves ever.

Normally I say performance trumps everything, problem is; dude is no longer that good, and guys resent him.

He's walking talking cancer. Giving preferential treatment destroys locker rooms.
