Munchak is still safe for another 5 years. If he makes the playoffs in the next two years he'll be safe for another 15

I don't really believe this article. No way Loggains gets promoted. We'll know more tomorrow.

I do. If he's banking on a scrub front office and a scrub head coach somehow miraculously winning a Super Bowl within the few short years he has left just because he doesn't feel like "starting over"... well, he'd be a fool and more importantly doing a huge disservice to the fans.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I appreciate the guy and the fact that he brought NFL football to our city. And I do feel for him that he's likely going to die without ever getting a ring. But his #1 priority should always be doing what's best for the team. Not putting his own selfish desires first. That's being a bad owner. And that's exactly what he'd be if he chooses to just close his eyes, cross his fingers and pray to the gods that this sub-par staff can somehow luck their way into hoisting the Lombardi trophy.

Also, for all we know Bud could live another 10 years. So where would the "not wanting to start over" mentality stop? Are we stuck with Munchak for as long as Bud is alive? At some point Bud's going to have to admit that this isn't just working, and most likely isn't going to. And the sooner you begin the process of righting the ship, the better. Even if it does involve top to bottom turnover.

Okay, just read the article. First, I never really bought the idea that our local beat writers have been stealing ideas from the forums. But the whole "quiet extension" thing was a theory I thought I was alone on. Nobody else brought that up. I am convinced that David Climer stole that from me. At least he came up with his own term for it- "The incredible expanding contract". Climer is probably reading this right now. If so, you owe me one David. Check your inbox.

As much as it pains me to say, Munch isn't going anywhere. I knew something was up the minute I heard the contract news a couple of weeks ago. This organization is completely inept.

Article seems to be a lot of guesswork.

The guy is 90 years old. There gets to be a point in every businessman's life where he just doesn't have the vigor to do what it takes to win. Bud knows his "right hand men" really aren't that good and especially aren't getting the job done. Bud would have to research and interview replacements that he could trust and have the talent to build the organization. His other option is just to fade away and hope for the best with his last decision.

Personally, I think the problem is Mike Reinfeldt. That bozo hasn't done chit since he's been with the Titans. He floated over here from Seattle and the best we've ever gotten from him is Seattle's cast-offs. He charmed his way into a VP position when his personnel choices were obviously sub-par. He tapped Webster to be GM who I think is an OK scout but has little to no insight on how to build a team for years to come.

I'm afraid the organization is going to be in a deep lull until Bud passes away. I don't have any idea what his grandson is like. I hope he is interning somewhere other than Baptist Sports Park because there isn't much good to learn from there.

I still think that Munchak gets the axe if the Titans lose today (making them 0-6 in the division this season). At least I hope so, for that is just plain embarrassing, especially given the strength (or lack thereof) of our division this season.

At any rate I have a hard time seeing coordinators making it into next season, especially Gray...at least under normal team leadership. With Bud at this point, not much surprises me anymore, however.

When the streak of sellouts ends and the ratings drop further, Bud can only blame himself

Yeah I can kind of understand that (i.e. his age, vigor, etc.). Still doesn't make it right though. If Bud can't be bothered to interview new candidates for the top front office positions then he really should just step down and hand the keys over to someone else. That's truly pathetic. 90 years old or not. And he has no one to blame but himself for not having quality "right hand men".

And again I go back to, how long do you roll with this philosophy? Are we stuck with this front office and coaching staff for as long as the old man is alive? If Bud doesn't feel like conducting interviews at age 90 then he sure as hell won't feel like conducting them at 92 (when Munchak's contract is up).

Either do what it takes to build a winner or step aside and let someone who's willing to put in the effort give it a try. It's a slap in the face to the fans to just go "Well, this is what you're stuck with because I don't feel like starting over again".

I wonder if he would have that same attitude if the sellouts stopped coming? Would he be back up to moving the team? I am guessing yes to that one...
