Shhh that makes too much sense, which means we won't see it.

CJ hasn't given us much reason to complain the second half of the season, aside from the occasional -12 yard run. Still, he's not worth his contract. If we could get a decent pick for him I'd do it in a heartbeat. Reason being, we're a ways off from being serious contenders (as much as some people around here don't want to admit it). By the time we get there CJ is probably going to be pushing 30 and pretty much done anyway.

This is so true even though CJ is my favorite player, we're building for like 2014,2015. CJ will be 30 and his contract will be up even if he is being somewhat productive still. If we could get some draft picks it would be nice for our future even though it might make us worse now.

I wouldn't say he needs everything to go right, He just needs more than an average sized back which there's 20 of them in the NFL so it looks that way. He is mainly only good because of his moves past the LOS, the fact that he can't get any holes and use his skills is making him a complete scrub when the blocking isn't allowing him to at least get to the linebackers.

As soon as I saw we were starting a o-line of basically completely backups I said he'll probably only get 200 yards total the last 4 games. I still think that that'll be pretty accurate. Might finish with 1250-1300 if he's lucky and can break one.

CJ has put up decent numbers (especially compared to what he did at the beginning of the year). Problem is, unless you have Adrian Peterson... RBs just aren't franchise players anymore. CJ is too inconsistent for the Titans to be taking a $12M cap hit. CJ has had some good games, but you just can't pay a RB $12M to be avg'n 79 YPG.

Luckily, he's put up some decent numbers that I think some team would deal for him. His contract is huge though, so i'm not sure who actually would.

No one is dumb enough to take him off our hands, no one!

There's plenty of better RB's who will soon become free agents.

Others will do what I hope we do and sign one of those young and hungry RB's.

C.J. got paid, he's sitting back living the good life. Thats a deadly combo if youre a pro athlete.

I think some team might be interested, assuming he'd be willing to restructure. If you're a team on the brink of taking it to the next level, and you could get him to restructure and only have to give up a 4th (or something like that) I think you might bite. He's shown flashes of his old self this season. Problem is, he's just not consistent enough to be the focal point of an offense anymore. For teams that are just one or two players away, that wouldn't be an issue. They would already have a good enough offense. He'd just be a piece of the puzzle, rather than the centerpiece.

Think Falcons or Broncos. Hell, I could even see some lesser teams like the Skins, Cowboys, etc. being interested. If he's willing to restructure and the price is right, I just don't think it's as out there as you might think. Even though he's dropped off considerably, he's still somewhat of a commodity.

Falcons: Turner set to make 8mil next year [last year]. Solid duo of RBs, can they afford it?
Broncos: Absolutely. CJ paired with Peyton scares me. McGahee is old.
Skins: No way. Alfred Morris has been impressive, no reason he should split carries.
Cowboys: Jerry takes risks, with that OL he'd be doomed. Could replace Felix.

I'll throw out some other teams: Detroit, NYJ, Arizona, SD, and how about a Fish reunion?

I agree that we are a ways off from being a year in year out contender. With our schedule this year I did not expect to make the playoffs. I think next year is a totally different story playing the AFC West and NFC West plus getting the 3rd place teams from the other AFC divisions rather than the 2nd place teams. Of course if we don't figure out how to beat our own divisonal teams then we aren't going anywhere.
