Trailing 21-3 late in the second quarter, the Titans had a fourth-and-six at the Houston 36.

Coach Mike Munchak planned to go for it, but the Titans failed to get the snap off in time, were flagged for delay of game and had to punt.

“I thought the play got in there,” Munchak said. “Maybe it was because the players, they weren’t sure we were going for it, maybe I should’ve decided quicker. It’s my fault. It’s probably better just to blame me for that.”

Said offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains: “That’s unacceptable, and I’m going to take responsibility for that. At the time I felt like the call was in quick enough, and I don’t know what happened once we got in the huddle.”

Another signature moment for Munchak and his staff. But I'm guessing TitanJeff will just attribute this to "mental errors"

it was on MM/DL - BUT a more experienced QB could have gotten the play off IMO

Inexcusable on the part of Munch and the coaching staff to not call a timeout in that situation if their is even a question about the play not getting run in time. Instead we head into the locker room with several timeouts in hand.

You're right. If Munch calls a timeout there, the Titans WRs don't have seven drops and the offense six turnovers. It obviously cost the Titans the game.

Obviously it didn't cost us the game, but clock management is actually one area that the coaching staff can control on gameday and they messed that one up.

If we make a first down their and go down and score who knows what happens. Maybe we don't have to ignore the running game the rest of the way and play more balanced offense.

This game was absolutely lost because of the players.

First of all, for anyone who read the article, both Munch and the Loggains said the play was in on time. So it could have been Locker who didn't get it done. But they're taking the heat.

Second, it was 4th-and-6. Nothing close to a gimme. So "if we make a first down" is a big IF.

Whether they screwed up or not, in the scheme of things, it's small potatoes compared to the screw-ups made by the players. TheSureThing is just upset because he knows he can't blame this sucky offense on Palmer anymore.

It's sad I don't know what penalty they're talking about because I quit watching at half. :anon:

You're gonna want to stop doing that. Locker got better as the game went on, soon he'll pull it all together and take over games.

Remember, Eli Manning sucked for a long time before people started calling him Elite Eli

It's just silly to think Jake is bad based on so few games.
