They were better than people remember. Heck, they made the playoffs the year AFTER he retired and went 9-7 the year after that... and that was with Gus Frerotte and Charlie Batch as QB. They had a pretty good defense most of the time he was there.

No question. Barry Sanders and CJ's stats and running styles are freakishly similar.

Sanders retired just to get OUT of Detroit. Imagine if CJ retired just to get out of Nashville, he'd be obliterated by these fools.

I almost feel bad for some of you guys. We're witnessing an icon of the same status of Barry Sanders and most of you are too stubborn to appreciate it....

When CJ stops picking and choosing when he wants to go hard is when everyone will love him again.

remember when he used to say he was homeless? Go hard or go home CJ.

So being the top running back since week 4 isn't going hard enough?

all of 2011 and the first however many weeks of 2012 of not going hard enough

Im glad he seems too have 'clicked' with the new system and all, but its hard too forget 20+ games of suck right after signing for 'playmaker' $s

Last year was half and half as far as who to blame. CJ came back from his holdout out of shape and not ready to play football. When he was on the field he didn't play like he did before and you can tell he just gave up a few times. The other half goes on the OL for playing so bad, part of CJ giving up was because of the OL imo.

This year he had 4 bad games and I put that mostly on the offensive line and the team overall. We could never get the running game going because CJ was either being hit in the backfield or the team was already down a couple scores half way through the game. However, the OL is playing much better and we're not playing as rough as a schedule as the first few weeks. Now CJ is going over a 100 every week with some great runs and finding the end zone. I don't see how someone can hate on CJ now. Yeah his contract is bad but no one really liked the move in the first place and what is CJ supposed to do say no to millions of dollars? Get a grip, CJ is back.

I can't even imagine what would happen if CJ ran for 9 in a playoff game, then said he doesn't really care because it is just a job and maybe he'll do better next September.

Check out some of these games by Barry Sanders

    5 attempts 1 yard 0.2 AVG
    12 attempts 10 yards 0.8 AVG
    9 attempts 23 yards 2.6 AVG
    18 attempts 42 yards 2.3 AVG
    14 attempts 34 yards 2.4 AVG
    12 attempts 16 yards 1.3 AVG
    19 attempts 45 yards 2.4 AVG
13 attempts -1 YARDS -0.7 AVG (IN THE PLAYOFFS)
    17 attempts 24 yards 1.7 AVG

And thats just the first 6 or 7 years of his career. There's a BUNCH more of these types of games.

I guess Barry Sanders just took games off too huh?

    Wake up.
