I pulled it right out of your post. The ability of Munch is limited to the inability of the players. Same sob story you've been using to support the guy all along. He's a bum. IDK how many more 51-20 beatings you need to see this organization is not being RUN the right way.

You don't see any difference in the team is too sucky to put any blame on Munchak and his success is limited based on his player's inabilities?

    Seriously? I shouldn't be surprised.

Please reference my "Not very impressed with this scrub coaching staff" thread created in Feb 2011... that got 1 high five and 30+ it sucks... and you were one of the "It sucks" guys. I was telling people this 2 years ago... Infact I think I said something like.. "You don't blow up a franchise and rebuild it with sandbags."

I agree with TJ's point that Munchak was dealt a bad hand...But in poker... Good players win with bad hands. Munchak... given what he has... did exactly what I thought he'd do. I'd chalk up 9-7 to a diminished NFL product on the field and this year, he won't win more than 6 games... which is exactly what I expected.

Just because the person delivering the message changes... doesn't mean the message has changed... If you give munchak good players, yeah, this team will turn it around. Think about LeBron or even Peyton Manning.. Good players want to play with good players and coaches. We have neither on this team.
This defense is very similar to what Cecil was running and the offense can't convert 3rd downs against good teams.

    That's because bluffing is allowed.

Kind of hard to bluff when you have to snap the football.

What really boggles my mind is that Bud acts all surprised about the team playing like this... You replaced Fisher with a Fisher disciple and downgraded our coordinators. What did you think would happen?

That's one way to look at it... He could certainly gamble a little bit though. He's had nothing to lose since day 1. I mean.. How frustrated do you get when you see CJ run right up the middle for no gain, a loss or a one yard gain when Chris Johnson is most effective when he gets on the edge and space. With Fisher, that atleast looked like it was the idea... Now, it seems like that idea has been scrapped...

    Which leads to the question:

"Will Munch be more or less likely to open the playbook to higher-risk plays or go more conservative knowing everyone's job is on the line?"

I've come to believe you are simply trolling TJ. You are taking my points out of context and sensationalizing them. I've never said sit every mistake made by players only those that arose when a player did not execute as instructed. I've followed the example you made when players are to blame and not the coach when they don't perform as instructed.

I get it that you're frustrated with this issue and thread. You've been promoting a wait and see approach and that those who don't are irrational and fanatical.

I understand we differ on accountability and the role a head coach as in setting tone and responsibility. But it's ok with me to differ on opinion. I'm disappointed that you are compelled to take my comments out context, employ debate tactics of attrition, and sensationalize my points out of context. That indicates to me there little substance left to your argument(s). I usually enjoy the discourse we have particularly when we disagree but in this case I'm simply fatigued of having to continuously restate/clarify my position after your replies. I know you are much more intuitive than that. I think any reader that re-reads the thread will easily discern the points I've made.

I've got it! I've got the answer to our coaching woes. It immediately makes our defense stronger. It immediately weakens our top division foe. *drum roll please*....

    Son-of-Bum Wade Phillips!

Think about it. He's already familiar with the division. He's coached for the organization before and has significant ties to Bud, which as we all know Bud likes. He interviewed with the Bucs last off-season so you know he's still got the coaching itch, if you know what I'm sayin'. I've never been super-in-love with the 3-4 defense, but I certainly don't hate it like in the past, especially given the success its had around the league in recent years. Go grab Kyle Shanahan to implement the zone-blocking/play-action offense, and you're got a winner right there.

He thought that people would still show up and buy his crap and line his pockets

Since the stadium was 1/2 full of Bears fans, his pockets come away a little lighter so now its time to improve the team!!!
