(on if he might decide to stick with Matt Hasselbeck[IMG] for the remainder of the season if Jake Locker isn’t ready to return for a long time)
The first part of your question was, that yeah, the quicker a guy comes back, you don’t have to even consider how it affects the team. The longer someone is out, you do factor in all the factors, you always do. You’d be crazy not to as far as if it’s Jake (Locker) or whoever, when you miss so long. I don’t want to speculate how long he is out, and what we will do with that. There are a lot of circumstances we won’t know. Week to week in this game, it changes dramatically, like we have as a team. Two weeks ago, I don’t think people thought we’d be 4-4 or have a chance at 4-4 this week. I think things change so much that I don’t want to even speculate past this week.

Tell me that doesn't sound fishy!

Munch has been very smart about early in the week naming who the starter will be. This puts an end to a media frenzy of which QB will start.

My guess is that if we win this week then Hass will start against the Bears. If we beat the Bears then Hass will start until we are eliminated from the playoffs.

I think thats exactly what Munch will do, but it is the absolutely wrong! Locker should start NOW. I have no doubt in my mind he will be ready to play.

It's a tough decision to make. It's not Fisher speak at all. He's obviously going to be weighing several factors.

Is Hasselbeck going to have another good performance? Is Hasselbeck helping out the O-Line and recievers? Is Locker going to get injured as soon as he's back out there? Can Locker play at the same level that he did vs. Detroit?

We saw a drop whenever we changed QB's. Whether it was Locker or Hass, it took a game or two for them to get into the swing of things. We'd probably have a dropoff if Locker took back over. It may take him a game to get back into rhythm. Does that loss knock us out of playoff contention or make it harder for us to get in??

You have to think about a lot of factors as a head coach.

One thing I'm certain of though, is that both Hasselbeck and Locker will be ok with whatever decision. Both are going to keep preparing like pros and keep working on their game. We've got two great QB's. I don't mean great on the field (they are balling though), but off the field. They both want to see the TEAM win.

To me it really doesn't matter because I think both are very capable. Winning ballgames is going to come down to whether the defense can get its act together.

You dont draft a qb 8th overall to ride the pine! Thats not how it works these days!

He was already given the reigns. We all know he's the future. The issue now is his health status and our ability to get into the playoffs.

    Team > 1 Player's development

Locker is a team player, he'll understand if he's not the starter.

If Kenny Britt gets hot I honestly don't think it matters who's at QB. We'll have way too many weapons on the field.

Like another poster said, it will come down to defense.

You keep with the perceived winner, whoever it is. Right now it's MH. We are on a roll-of sorts-and MH is getting into a rhythm. It would be foolhardy to change now. As CJ says, you always see a drop off when you change QBs. Coach knows that.
