Wade Phillips was my #1 choice for our DC. If only we had gotten him... we'd be better and the Texans would still suck.

I would make him our head coach just so the Texans don't have him... he's actually been a great regular season coach in the past. I'd be for it, honestly. Certainly won't be any worse than Munchak.

And we need to switch to a 3-4 IMO. The best defenses run 3-4s for a reason.

    49ers
    Ravens
    Steelers
    Texans

All 3-4 teams. Isn't it obvious that 3-4 is the way to go?

Its obvious that Wade is suited to be a coordinator, not a hc.

My #1 is Ray Horton. Look em up and you don't know him. ARZ DC and a no-bs, aggressive, 3-4, LeBeau assistant.

I'm not sure that the 3-4 is the way to go, but it seems like we have some guys that would be a better fit in the 3-4. I really don't care if it's the 4-3 or the 3-4. I just want a coach that knows something about scheme and aggressive football.

Gray talks a good game, but when you continuously put players in position to fail and play conservative schemes, what you get is what we have. Even more worrisome... What if it isn't Gray? What if it's Munchak? Every defense we had was a Fisher defense and every offense was a Fisher offense regardless of who was at OC or DC. Were there ever differences? Yes, but all felt subtly the same, at least ever since Williams left.

I guess I can give Munchak the benefit of the doubt for now. When Gray is talking about aggressive football and different looks, I'm quickly reminded about how Cecil talked the same, and we still had this same ultra conservative-bend don't break-play not to win just not to lose nonsense. If we're rolling with the same nonsense next season regardless of who we have at DC, I'm ready to call BS.

Someone should probably tell someone in the coaching staff that blitzing while giving every WR a ten yard cushion is a waste of a blitz. And then people wonder why others think they know more than the coaches/staff...

Hahaha yeah that gives him +2 wins/season.

But fo rizzle, dude loves defense... designed hidden blitzs, PRESS coverage, and winning. All the cardinal players rave about him.

If Rex Ryan gets fired (which is a possibility), would you guys sign his as a DC and keep Munch at HC?

Yes I would sign Rex instantly. His defense in ny use to be solid, but a lot of talent has left the building. I think he brings a certain type of fire that we REALLY lack.

What i think we should do, I think i mentioned this earlier in the thread, but sign him as a DC. For some reason i just dont think Thorchak is the problem. I could very well be wrong though.

Palmer and Gray just dont come off as NFL material to me though.

I'd sign Rex as HC, and let him do whatever the hell he wanted. I'm sure he'd bring in a guy on offense with some game, it's not like we don't have the pieces. I mean, the Jets offensive players are Turrible!
