He has the same amount of league championships that we've won in our 42 years of existence since the merger. Pretty sad, right?
He spent most of his career in the same division as Tom Brady. And they still managed to make it deep in the playoffs at least once or twice.

Stats do mean nothing. Just like a certain running back who can run for 2000 yards on a failing team. Just like Barry Sanders who never made any noise in the playoffs. Just like Peyton Manning, who broke every record in the passing books, just to choke in about 80% of his playoff runs, and the only superbowl he did win, he was not effective. Dominic Rhodes was the real MVP of that game.

I'm sorry, 1 TD, 1 INT, 247 yards passing is not a Super Bowl MVP award-worthy. Vinatieri put up more points than he did.

Regardless the TEAM won a championship. So obviously whatever starters that TEAM had were good enough to get the job done. I couldnt care less if he was MVP for five years but never won a ring.

That's funny. You start by saying that stats "do mean nothing," and then go on to support two of your statements using statistical analysis.

I wasn't even suggesting that Pennington is better than Favre. Rating doesn't mean everything. However, when you're in company with the likes of Pennington, Palmer, Culpepper, etc in terms of QB rating (as Favre is), you're overrated. Period.

That's all I was getting at. You clearly struggle with semantics, but that's okay.

And what is it with the exclamation points? Geez.

Your reasoning fails. How does being in a comparable statistical category (which you start by admitting is for the most part irrelevant) with other QBs (who have made the pro-bowl) entail being overrated? So many ideas under-devloped it's hard to understand what point you're really trying to make.

Stats should mean something when you're picking an MVP of the SB.

Yeah, I always knew Pennington wasn't a scrub, but didn't realize he was that good, I was expecting a QB rating in the high 70's, guess it was all the injuries that threw me off.

So in effect you're saying statistics from one game outweigh the statistics derived over the course of a whole season (or longer) when evaluating players? Do you see the inconsistencies in your reasoning?

it's funny how many times you said TEAM.... according to you, our TEAM is CJ.. because Locker is always hurt, Wright is a bad WR.. heck, lets have CJ hike it to himself and run the wildcat and we'd win the rest of the games this season

If you don't think Brett Favre is overrated, you have a full-blown man crush on him like John Madden does. He may own the TD pass record, but he also owns the INT record.

All I said was QB rating isn't everything... but it does mean something, and when you rank below doezens of QBs yet are considered one of the best ever, you're overrated.

Dude is overrated. End of discussion.
