Let me first say that its one game, against the best team in the NFL. Pat defense has made them much better. Although this is the case, why are we a year removed from the same problems

    Griff being clueless
    OLine terrible
    CJ terrible
    Run defense terrible
    And no pass rush

A year removed and we have

Improved the explosiveness of the pass game
Pretty much have the same pass D.

I said this in a different thread
This season could have started better if
    - we sign a WR in free agency
    - draft decastro in first
    -draft konz in 2nd
-not chase peyton manning and try to sign a decent center.

I cant believe we are a year removed with the same problems. I love this team but shouldnt you improve in aspects of your team that hurt you the previous year. Our pass game was good last year, this year it is more explosive but it was already a strength. Its just frustrating that even though we have a small sample size, its the same things that have plagued us last year and previous years before. Any thoughts?

You should probably give it more than 1 game to judge if we have improved or not.

Personally, I'm still happy with the direction we're headed regardless of the struggles.

The fact of the matter is that we are a rebuilding team whether we can admit it or not. We will have growing pains.

Fixing the o-line, or rather improving it, is easy in my eyes. Fire Matthews and have Munchak take over his old duties on top of his HC duties. If CJ still sucks, you cut him in the offseason. Next, fix the run D. A lot of it had to do with McCarthy's absence, so I won't panic too much. Plus, we were clearly more focused on the pass.

I don't think our issues are too hard to fix and still believe we could make the playoffs, though pretty unlikely considering how inept our run game is at the moment.

It all starts with a W next week which I think is a must win. I just doubt we can beat the Lions or Texans.

I don't think the Lions are all that much, though Stafford will probably destroy us.

The WRs that were available were crap. Vincent Jackson has never had more than 70 catches in a season but got a boatload of money from the Bucs. Laurent Robinson has had one good year and is hurt most of the time. Robert Meachem and Mario Manningham are scrubs.

Give me Kendall Wright over DeCastro since Wright has the ability to score touchdowns and Britt's production is a bonus this season.

I'm with the OP. Until I'm proven otherwise I'm gonna believe the running game and pass rush both stink...
