If he makes the team he will be the most versatile player we have.

    4th RB? I not to sure he shouldn't be our # 2!

    I think Ringer is gone.

Ringer is supposed to be a more "shifty" back, not really a power back. Unfortunately for Ringer, D-Rey is the same why, just more explosive. Harper is supposed to be the "big bruiser" back (the jury is still out on whether or not he can do this), but Harper has only had 1 year, and not a lot of playing time. I think the coaching staff keeps him around to see if he can turn into that back, and because he is the closest thing we have to a bruiser. Ringer will never be that guy.

I think that CJ/D-Rey could be a good combo. Defenses will always have to worry about the RB breaking a big run and will never be able to let their gaurd down. And eventually one of them will get the hole they need to take one to the house. Unlike last year when Ringer would get a HUGE hole when CJ would come out, only to get a modest-good gain. If D-Rey gets one of those he could be gone.

It also really helps that he plays St too.

I'm thinking he might be #1 based on 2 preseason games. Love the burst, the speed, his vision down field, his "juking" abilities. I guess he started eating his wheaties when the Titans signed him because he obviously didn't do a whole lot with the Gints and Minny or wasn't given the opportunity to show what he can do.

I doubt they'll cut Ringer or Harper. I think they'll keep Reynaud as #4RB + special teams guy. Mariani is the likeliest of the bunch to get cut for Reynaud.

I think next year, if Reynaud proves he's consistent throughout the year, he may displace Ringer or Harper. Until then, it'd be too big of a risk to cut Ringer. Harper still has some time to prove himself as a relatively high draft pick.

And obviously, D-Rey won't be #1, but I do think he's a solid #2 based on what we've seen so far. Although I want him returning kicks, punts and anything else they decide to throw at him. I'm a fan, can you tell? ;)

If D-Rey is not #2, there is something very seriously wrong with the Coaching staff. I don't think there is anyway you put Harper and/or Ringer ahead of him.

Now he could totally change when the reg. season starts. I've seen players in the past shine in the preseason then stink it up when it counts, but when teams are purposely kicking away from you, that's a compliment.

I think the roster battle is between Ringer and Harper. Neither of them contribute much on STs which is a negative for both. In my book neither is a speedster and neither is a power back. Harper has the body of a power back but doesn't run like one. They both are pedestrian back up RBs which isn't hard to find.

A guy like Reynaud has shown game breaking speed. If CJ were to go down for any period of time we would still have a speed back that defenses would have to account for.

Let's keep this in perspective. After two preseason games last year, the top RB on the Titans had 110 yards on 19 carries (5.8 ypc) and two TDs.

That was Jamie Harper—the same guy some of you are ready to cut after just one season.

I think the Titans are nuts to cut either Ringer or Harper. This is about deciding whether they want to keep a FB which would make Reynaud the #4 RB or the Titans keeping seven WRs.

Ringer had 59 carries for 185 yards, a 3.1 ypc and 1 TD. I really don't think anyone would be "nuts" to cut him. Especially if there is another guy on the roster who they think can match his production. I'm not saying that Ringer can't be a serviceable running back, but its not like he was a vital part of the team, and cutting him for someone the coaches think has more potential is relativly low risk. Especially since Ringer doesn't contribute to special teams.

Not saying he gets cut either. But if he did its not like it would have much of an impact on the team.

    Edit:

To be fair to ringer he also had 187 recieving yards, but even still that production can be replaced relatively easily
