I agree about about Robin. JGL was pleasantly surprising just like he was in Inception. Though I don't expect a Robin movie nor do I think one is needed. Knowing Nolan's take and style on the Batman movies and his "grounded realism" theme, we already got Robin, not just John Blake. The way he helped Batman save Gotham City, he practically was his sidekick, heroes don't always need a cape. In the scene at the end where he finds the bat cave, I think it was nothing more than a little tease, I would be more surprised if it turned out to be anything more than that.

Bane's death was lame, actually his whole outcome was lame because Nolan wanted to stress that the end of the day he was nothing but a pawn and Miranda Tate/Talia al Ghul was the real villain. His quick, casual off-screen death was a reflection of that. Which didn't work for me because Talia was the most forgettable character in the movie and had the actress had zero chemistry with Christian Bale. Tom Hardy was wasted talent, I felt like they could have put any buff dude behind that mask and it would have had the same impact on the film. Speaking of Talia, did your theater crack up during her unintentionally, bad death scene? lol

If I were to nitpick, but there were some obvious goofs in this movie, not that it took anything away from the movie, but definitely worth mentioning, like Bane reading Gordan's letter, which was about 4-5 pages long, apparently Gordan likes to write one sentence on each page, or when the police were supposed to be trapped underground for 3 months but looked like they were down there for 3 minutes, guess they were provided with Gillette and Rockstar energy drinks with their food drops.

My biggest problem with the movie though was Batman Begins and TDK both actually felt like it took place in Gotham City, where in TDKR it did not. Doesn't help when you see NYC signs and landmarks throughout movie either.

Overall I felt like Nolan, as great of a director he is, he half a**ed this movie, though it was still pretty good. lol

    TDK 9.5/10
    Batman Begins 8.5/10
    TDKR 8/10

Edit* I agree, didn't care much for the pit scene either as it was obviously there for Bruce to sit and heal after a broken back, which apparently can be fixed by a punch. :D

But in all seriousness, it was just very anti-climatic. That prison was supposed to be terrifying. I would have liked it if more effort was spent on it, like having a power struggle in it, as there always is a power struggle in any prison.

But as I said, overall, not bad, pretty good movie, great Inception reunion.

That's quickly become one of my favorite podcasts. Emily can kind of get my nerves at times though. Like she's trying too hard to be funny. I feel the same way about Jonah and Matt on Nerdist (if you listen to that one). It's like they're always trying to "out-joke" each other and sometimes it takes away from the interview/conversation.

Totally agree on Emily. Have to turn it off sometimes because she's too annoying.

Wasn't one of his vertebrae all jacked up and protruding or something? I recall the pit doc saying something to that effect before they hung him up on a rope.

Yea, one of his bone thingys was all out of loop. I would still imagine it takes more than being hung up by a rope and some guy punching your back.

They used some wood and pressure, too! Spinal injuries aren't very complicated, iirc.
