you don't run the ball in a one score game with a minute left, no timeouts, from 70 yards away from the endzone. It's just common sense. And It's stupid to try and justify it.

A naked bootleg with HB going left to the endzone also would have been called a genius playcall if it worked.

However, Palmer gambled with a high risk call, and shot himself in the foot.

We are entitled to belittle him over it. How many more does he have to do before they are just bad playcalls?

I don't think that playcall has ever worked given the field position/game situation.

I'm pretty spectacular If I jump off a building and start to fly. If not I'm just a moron.

    For me, one more year.

No running game, KB being down, new QB, no off season, and he was thrown into the job at the last second.

If he sucks next season, I will lead the charge in calling for his head but I realize that he was not even close to being in a good situation last season.

also...schwartz wasnt the only reason the lions turned around...they had the number one pick in the draft for how many years straight? and finally had them all playing together...

hell if we had 3 years back to back of having the number one pick then im sure we would be pretty good too...

I basically agree. I blame the blocking problems on the offensive line coaches. Munch was too caught up in learning his job to probably be much help to Matthews and it was his first year on the job. Maybe that will improve.

FYI Palmer did not get the job at the last minute. He was there all off season and it was a long off season.

My take on Palmer is that he is a professional, very hard working and certainly has plenty of experience. Our offense was probably better than our defense last year despite the KB injury and many young players had break out years. Improve the running game, add lockers mobility along with Wright's talents and we can be damn good.

Exactly! Stafford and Suh were number one picks and Johnson was a 2nd pick. Without those 3 the Lions would have been 3-13.

Nothing wrong with a draw play in a 2 minute type drive. Still have to get first downs and if the conditions are right(Man coverage, blitz possible) you run it. We have a back who has taken draw plays to the house before!

When you run the ball in a 2 minute drill you usually have a play called right behind it. The play usually doesn't take much time and you can line up very quickly for the next snap.

Nothing wrong about it at all and if it works for big yardage he looks like a genius.

I thought people wanted a coach who is not always doing predictable things?
