If anyone wants to see how a stadium atmosphere is supposed to be tune to espn.

    Portland vs Seattle

I love it and I'm ashamed of what the NFL is doing to their fans.

NFL stadiums desperately need an assigned anything goes supporters section.

Flags, banners, cursing, chants, no sitting. Let the alcohol flow freely and stuff gets wild.

The NFL cares little for their hardcore fans.

I don't think anything goes should be the case. I think there needs to be some governing but the way things are where you are forced to sit on your hands is ridonculous.

I went to the Liberty Bowl last year to watch Vandy and Cincinnati play. That atmosphere was absolutely awesome. My friends and I were sitting 2 rows from the field at about the 20 yard line on the VU side. We were loud, we made our presence known and the people around us got into just as much. No one asked us to sit down or be quiet. I was hugging other VU fans I didn't even know when something good happened. That is how stadium atmospheres should be. We were loud and obnoxious but very few profanities were said. I think I said damn a few times and that is pretty mild for me.

Are profanities going to be said? Sure. I, for one, think people shouldn't get so up in arms about them and that they are just words. However, I am not one to tell someone what to be offended by.

As for the delay of game no call in the 2008 season, I know I said enough cuss words to last a lifetime. I believe I said "F**K" 38 times in a row that night. And I wasn't even at the game.

Point is, some people should tone it down while some should loosen up. Have a little fun with the experience. And if someone ever tells me to sit down, well, let's just say I will prepare myself to get kicked out because I am about to let them have it!

But they still gets fined by the league :D
And (should) receive a yellow card, when they take of their shirt, according to the rules.

European soccer doesn't have family sections. But they have sections for the fan, in some cases non-seated. Then the rest of the stadium is seated. The fan section is the place for drums, megaphones and other loudy stuff (and typically fireworks, although it's disallowed).
But it's Europe, we don't need to "earmuff" and protect the kids. I don't think a family section would get more fans on the stadiums to soccer matches. It's just not part of the culture.

People act different. Your kids should see how others behave, it's part of their upbringing. How you want them to act is what you teach them, not what they pick up in public, when they're with you. And, it's a prime example to show them how to to be.

USA is the biggest mixup of cultures. You shouldn't try to standardize people.

Of course not. Only an idiot would take a kid to a European soccer match. They are likely to be killed in a riot or a hail of batteries.

Sure they go nuts when someone scores. Three times in one game is a freaking barnburner in that dull sport.

I certainly think the polite police have gone too far in LP, but we certainly don't want a Euro soccer atmosphere, complete with police stormtroopers with riot gear.

Although I am all in favor of a ramp where chicks flash people, like at Jets games. :grrhee:

This may not have gotten past the news in Knoxville, but does anyone remember the lady that was a season ticket holder and either was banned or threatened to be banned from Neyland Stadium because of her cheering?

    Hell yes, we do.

And the kids can stay at home and watch it on TV.

They don't bring anything to the stadium anyway.
