For all practical purposes that is what they will end up doing. The winners of those conference championship games, providing they don't have too many losses will end up being odds on favorites to get selected by the committee. I'd say the odds of one conference having two representatives is going to be less. Teams will essentially be playing their first playoff game in their conference championship. The thing is if a team wins an upset game in the conference championship (the lower ranked team with maybe two or more losses already) they won't get selected into the final 4 and shouldn't be if there is another team more worthy.

You are so clueless it is ridiculous. This was already discussed and already proven... if you go back through the BCS era and do this you are going to end up with the #1, #3, #6, and #13 ranked teams in the nation in the playoffs. That is a total crock of bs...

How can you not see that???

^considering the rankings are BS? What's different from that and in NCAA basketball when you end up with a 7 seed playing in the final 4?

Taking the top 4 is convenient to the SEC considering they're handed top 10 rankings and have to prove they suck before they budge from them every year.

Damn Dumb Wayne, it's friday.... i'm tired of explaining things to the clueless....

So you think a #16 ranked team with 3 losses is the same as a #2 ranked team with 1 loss. you think wins and losses don't matter basically.

Truth is, you are just scared of the SEC. You should be. You are going to see a lot more SEC vs SEC championship games thanks to the playoff... because of course they are the best teams.

It's insane how you guys want a playoff with 4 random teams in the top 20, instead of, you know, the 4 best teams in the country.

The bottom line is if Michigan goes through the season with no more than one loss and wins their conference championship they will get the privileged of getting their *****es kicked by a SEC team in the playoffs.

That's funny, because the SEC hasn't had much success with Michigan.

Bring it on. Stop sitting in the back of the room running your mouth about the SEC and have Michigan and the Big Ten do some talking for you. I'd love to see a Big Ten SEC matchup in the playoffs.

You are missing the point. If you win your conference you deserve a chance.

If you win one of the four power conferences you are going to be right up there.

You are still using lame *** computer rankings and voting to determine who gets in.

You are seriously clueless and have no idea what you are talking about. You should stop posting, turn off the computer, pick up a book preferably in math or sports history.

It is IDIOTIC to suggest that a conference champion should get in automatically over a 1 loss team. What if that conference champion has 5 losses and isn't even considered amongst the top quarter of teams in college football. XO puts them in the 4 team playoff!!

Also... news flash... there are not 4 super conferences.
