What I want out of my next gen console is a lot more power under the hood. I want amazing eye candy along with new ground breaking game play.

Nothing has made me say wow on a gaming console since i first played Metal Gear Solid on PS2. Now that was a leap in console technology that I want to see again.

I dont get the infatuation with all the "apps" anyway. On ANY device.

Every now and then I'll download an app to my phone. I might use it once.

I sit in front of a computer all day- then at night too. When I'm away from it- I dont care to try to watch a movie on my phone. When am I ever going to be sitting somewhere long enough to do so?

I think people just have this stuff for the sake of having it now. iPads are incredibly stupid- yet every schmuck has one. Why? Was your screen on your phone not big enough, but your laptop screen was too large? Couldn't bear the strain of opening it?

Glass seems more tedious than cool to me.

Where's virtual reality? That's all I want. I'll wear those glasses if I feel like I'm IN a game. That's what we're supposed to have now. Virtual sluts.

They have that, NASA uses it for simulations like astronauts coming unrigged while on a spacewalk and having to use dem' lil thrusters to make it back to the shuttle.

I'd really hate to drift lost in space. What a horrible feeling that has to be.

I am on my second iPad and I am not a schmuck. I don't understand the hate for the iPad. It has essentially replaced my laptop. I travel a lot for business so I can very easily use it for reading or movies on my flights. It's easy to carry with my work laptop. I do everything I want to do on it and if I decide to move around I can do so much easier than with my laptop. For 99% of my daily needs the iPad does the job and does it well. What makes that stupid?

The iPad is useful for a small percentage of people. Most of the people who own one don't need one. Hell, some of the people with iPads have iPhones, which are just smaller iPads that make phone calls...

Pretty much this. I don't need or use any apps on any console I own. I use it for games (or watching Blu-ray since it's my only player). That's all I need it for and all I want it for.

How do you quantify that statement? As of April they have sold approximately 67 MILLION iPads. Obviously more than a small percentage of people find them useful.

This can be said about a lot of things you probably own. You don't NEED any kind of gaming console. You don't NEED a lot of things you probably own. Need is relative....
