So the short offseason was a disadvantage for Hasselbeck, but he got worse as the season went on?

That's not to mention those stats being compiled from a three game skid, some against top tier defenses, and our QB's being a MASH unit. Rusty Smith started a game during that skid.

    Rusty. Smith. Starter.

Here's a fun fact. Without Kenny Britt on the field, the Titans have a roughly one in three shot at going three and out with Hasselbeck behind center. Do you really think that's adequate? Forget the KFC versus Hasselbeck talk for a moment. With a one out of three chance of going three and out, we might as well go back to the days of run, run, run, punt. You don't think those are brain dead plays?

If Locker plays well enough to take this job, he damn well better get it. I'm dreading talk about Hasselbeck being a knowledgeable veteran, and being the best option while facing so many playoff teams to start our season. He's knowledgeable but he has no ability. If Jake Locker proves to have the ability, I would rather see him struggle and learn than to watch Matt "3-and-out" Hasselbeck rob him of the opportunity and take us nowhere.

Exactly! It boggles my mind to think that some fans want and think MH should start, including the "experts". Did anyone watch the games last year? The last half of the season was flat out pathetic and embarrassing. I'd actually prefer our team to have a winning season this year. If MH starts that's not going to happen. He can "know what to do" and have all the experience in the world, but he just physically can't get it done anymore. Why can't some accept that? If MH starts, we will be scratching and clawing for a wild card spot if we're lucky and that's if everyone stays healthy. Who wants to do that again? With Locker starting, we may be in the same position (I highly doubt it), but at least we are moving forward with the team. Hasselbeck will only set us back a year. There is no other team in the league that would start MH over Locker. Why us!? If Locker shows that he's ready this preseason and they still start MH, I will lose a lot of respect for Munch and this coaching staff. The mentality of starting the less talented veteran over the young guy, especially the 8th overall pick, is long gone. Teams have moved forward from that. They're all looking for their next franchise QB that's going to take them somewhere. They're not going to play favorites, and they're going to give them every opportunity to play and to succeed. Starting MH over Locker is not giving him every opportunity to succeed. Id like to see if Locker has what it takes before every other team passes us by.

I want Locker to start day 1. I'm simply defending Hasselbeck from this lame comparison to the horrendous KFC.

Exactly. MH played better than you could have reasonably expected last year, but even then, he ran out of gas down the stretch last season.

We have a freakish athlete who is a good leader and a fierce competitor on the bench. Let's see what he can do.

We will anyway. Unless Jake trips over his own boy parts in the preseason, he wins the job.

MH was pretty horrendous at the end of last year. I don't see why people seem to forget so easily

So let's see... Who threw for more single season yards than ANY Tennessee Titans QB (1999-present) ever has?

Oh that's right... 2011 Matt Hasselbeck.
