Yea we're all hoping Locker is ready to take over, but if by some chance he's not, many of us feel fine starting with Hasselbeck. His problems don't come til November. In fact, his passer rating in September is 104.7

Collins has problems from day-1 all the way thru til the day he's sitting on his couch watching the playoffs.

And one of the variables you seem to be missing is that KFC had been on this team and knew the offense for a couple of years.

MH came in after an extremely shortened off-season and had to learn to gel with new teammates, who were also learning a brand new offense.

That's the problem with "just looking at numbers," it doesn't take into consideration any external reason for those numbers.

Possibly look and see what MH's numbers were his last year in Seattle versus what KFC's were his last year here.

Whereas Hasselbeck will have problems starting in Nov. all the way thru til the day he is sitting on his couch watching the playoffs. Either way we are out of the Playoffs.

I don't see Hass taking this team to the playoffs. Sorry

OK, but his stats his last season in Seattle were worse than his stats were this past year ... here is a quick look

    3001 yds
    59% completion
    6.8 yd average
    12 TD
    17 ints
    30.6 1st %
    33 20+ yard plays

And if his performance depended on the shortened offseason and him needing to gel with his team mates/new offense, then shouldn't he get better as the year went on instead of worse?

He started out real hot in the beginning of the season ... maybe it was because nobody had tape on him or could gameplan for him in the new O. in the beginning. That is the excuse people like to make for Locker's good play, so why not use it for Hass's good play as well.

Kerry Collins never beat Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints in January, or any team while in TN. He sucked, the whoooole time. ZERO playoff wins. Give Hasselbeck a RB and we're winning playoff games.

Let me also clarify, Jake Locker has been my choice since he declared for the draft 2 years ago, I'm just cool with Hass cause he's not a statue that fumbles and slingshots balls into section 122.

Oh yeah, you mean that year he went 7-9 and made the playoffs??? That is probably why he started to decline at the end of the year, he thought "hey we have 7 wins, that should be good enough". When is the last time he went 13-3 though?

Look I am not defending KFC, I am just pointing out that MH is not as good as some people believe. He started out hot, and people seem to only remember that and forget how bad some of the games he played were. He was not that much better in the end.

I don't post much, but here's my opinion: Last year MH had his second wind season. It was very nice while it lasted. It will never be repeated. Put a fork in him.
