That's a pretty flawed way of measuring impact. Amano touched the ball on every offensive snap last season.

I say we sign kerry Collins and trade him to the rams for their 1st rd pick

If I were in charge I'd literally try to trade every pick. If the phone rings and we got an offer where we'd come out ahead I'd trade. Every single year players slide, and I'd just target BPA in whatever round. I'd also call the Raiders and tell them our 1st round pick is up for trade. Getting the Raiders 1st rounder in 2013 and an additional lower round pick or two would be awesome.

Then we sign chris henry and trade him for the rams 2nd ... fisher used a 2nd on him once so surely he would do it again ... actually we could probably sign all of JF busts and trade them back to him

True. Amano did have a major impact. It was just a negative impact.

I see a problem here even if the trade happens. Most recent mocks I have seen have both people you want in the 2nd going in the late 1st round, but some have Konz still in the 2nd.

That's not genius, that's impossible. That would be an insane draft for sure, but I'd bet $100,000,000,000,000.57 it could never ever happen.

I would love to trade down. The Rams woud be a perfect partner, they could take a tackle then trade with us to grab a WR at 20. They have enough picks to do whatever they want.

Worthy would be the guy I would target with their 33 pick.

I don't see us trading down. It would have to be a hell of an offer. It's too risky to trade back when you're in the position we're in. I'd rather just take BPA.

This is what the Patriots have done in recent years and it hasn't totally worked out. They have a lot of B- players but not enough impact players.

At some point, you have to just stay where you are and draft the player you want. There is data supporting the argument that it's better to consolidate your picks in a few premium (early) picks rather than a bunch of middle-round picks.

I think both strategies can work, but it's a year-by-year and round-by-round thing.
