I was thinking about creating some sort of draft game where we can all try to predict the Titans draft this year. Needless to say guessing it 100% correctly is virtually impossible so I was thinking of assigning various point values such as points for the exact pick, points for the correct position drafted and so on. Suggestions would be much appreciated if you guys are interested. This is what I'm thinking as of now...

We'll all get two picks per round, the first being your main and the second a contingency pick. You can use your contingency pick on two different positions if you wish, for instance DE and LB. Basically your contingency pick doesn't have to match your first picks position. Perhaps if you are dead set that the Titans will select a certain position in a given round and you chose as your first pick a guard and you use your contingency pick on another guard you could get bonus points for being right about what the F.O. was targeting.

First pick correct - 10 points
Contingency pick correct - 5 points
Correct position predicted regardless of player (both picks per given round must be the same position) - 2.5 points
First pick position correct - 2 points
Contingency pick position correct - 1 point

We'll have to provide for a little leeway as far as the positions go. Say, Melvin Ingram is listed as an OLB but we all know he's drafted to play a hand in the dirt DE for us, his position would be DE. There will be no difference between Strong Safety and Free Safety, just Safety.

So if our first round pick is Michael Floyd and you pick him as your first choice, you'd get 10 points for the correct player and an additional 2 points for the correct position, so 12 points total. But if your first choice Stephen Hill you wouldn't get the 10 points for the exact player but you would get the 2 points for position since they both are receivers. Make sense? Anyway, if you guys are interested in playing lets bounce some ideas around to make it a cool game and we'll see who really is the "master of the draft".

Oh, if you we get enough people to play I'll create a separate thread for our picks only. Obviously we all must submit our picks before the draft begins :).

Sounds fun to me, but I instead of having all the picks in before the draft, I think we should see we can work it so that each pick is submitted before the respective round starts. For example everyone could go ahead and make their 1st rd picks, but wait until after the 1st rd is over to make the 2nd rd picks, then make 3rd round picks after the 2nd rd and so on ...

That way so you can regroup your draft board inbetween rounds bc some players always fall, and some teams always reach on guys. It should also keep it more competitive that way, and it will just be a complete crap shoot after about the 3rd round anyway. Also if you think Titans go DL in the 1st and OL in the 2nd, then your aren't completely screwed if the 1st round pick is OL since you will be able to edit your draft board

I'll play. I'd be sad if I win, because it means our FO sucks, but I'll play.

So everyone MUST have their picks in before the start of each round. Let's use the honor system please, because I'm not going to verify when every post occurs, OK?
