What do you guys think of the picks we gave Tennessee?

A few surprise picks, I know. But the NFL Draft is always a surprise. Overall thoughts?

Luke is going to be a good player, but trust me when I say Mccarthy more than "manned" the middle. He established himself as our starting MLB. Luke can play WLB, but Witherspoon isn't done yet, and Ayers isn't going anywhere. I'd be shocked if they go LB with this pick.

Mercilus at 43rd overall? Surely he's a first round pick, quite possibly to the Titans at 20. If not Mercilus, I believe our pick will be Nick Perry.

I think Brockers will go earlier than 20 also.

CB in the 2nd isn't bad but I think they'll go DL again & OL before they go CB.

Ben Jones in the 3rd would be great

DL again in the 4th, I think this pick & CB will be reversed (DL in 2nd, CB in 4th) but will see.

I'm not opposed to WR in the 5th

S in the 6th is cool also

Another small school 7th round CB is cool with me!

Yeah, I don't see us taking Kuechly but the rest of the draft looks solid.

you guys know we can always use spoon as trade bait to move up in the second or third round if not get some picks in next years draft if we did draft luke with our pick...i wouldnt be mad at all if we did as he is a safe pick and a steal at our pick

If Kuechly is there we're probably going to take him but no we replaced Tulloch.

Getting Luke with the 20th pick would be awesome. Our linebackers would be set for many years without a doubt. I don't like the 2nd round pick. I definitely envision d-line or interior OL picked here if we did go LB in the first. Ben Jones in the 3rd is a nice pick(although I prefer Philip Blake). I could live with the DaJohn Harris pick in the 4th, but knowing the Titans, I think they'd draft a player with a little more production(Derek Wolfe). I could live with the last 3 picks, although I would like to draft a good FB in on of those rounds that can learn from Hall before he gets too old.

with the production we have gotten from casey i think they would prefer harris to be one of the gems like casey was...i mean look at it 1. same school, 2. same position, 3. already got chemistry playing together...makes much more sense than wolfe

I'm beginning to believe the front office is gearing up to go BPA. We added the DE we needed, the guard we needed, and maybe now the center we needed. That leaves us in a good spot come draft time.

That allows us to go DB, LB, or really who ever. Maybe even WR, but after Blackmon and 2 others, the remaining WR's are all about the same, we could grab one later for those who aren't convinced Kenny is ok.

    Dajohn Harris(6'3,305 lbs) 2011 stats: 22 tackles, 7 tfl, 1.5 sacks - bench-28 reps, ran 5.07 40
    Derek Wolfe(6'5,295 lbs) 2011 stats: 70 tackles, 21.5 tfl, 9.5 sacks - bench -33 reps, ran 4.94 40.

Not to mention Dajohn Harris wasn't allowed to workout at the combine because he has a "small hole in his heart". So do you still feel like Dajohn Harris makes much more sense? :wink2:

That's a good draft, but just based on that board I'd take Barron over Kuechly in the first. Also, I'd take Hightower over Kuechly, I think he's a better LB prospect. But believe me, if Barron is there the Titans pull the trigger. Griff is only on a 1 year deal (franchised), so maybe this is how he gets replaced.

So my question is, if Barron is there and we take him, could we use Griff as draft trade bait? Safety is a really thin position right now and teams might be willing to give up more for him.
