Don't be surprised when this guy comes off the board with the twentieth pick overall.

Perfect situation to draft a center this year; Hutch has been around for a while and he will line up next to the rookie and help him along the way.

Locker needs a franchise center to take charge of the O-line...draft this guy and groom him for the Locker era!

I would be a little surprised if we took a center in the 1st. Not that I would be upset, bc we definitely need one, but I would be surprised. I think Munch probably thinks he can take a C later in the draft and develop him.

I look at how well Pouncey has done for the Steelers and he was 18th overall....have zero issues with picking C at 20 as long as its the right guy.

I'd agree here but I've heard so many ppl say the Center is a deep class and you can find plenty of good centers later in the draft.

With that why not focus on something else for the first. Get a center later and have the two hall of famers teach the young rookie.

I feel the same, but Pouncey was 10x better than Konz coming out of college. Konz is the #1 center, in a crappy center class, thus his draft stock is rising. He's an early 2nd talent, that will go late 1st due to their being no other centers. He's an average athlete, below average strength, but a smart kid... I'd be surprised if we took him at #20.

I wouldn't have a problem drafting Konz. With a HOF HC and OLine coach who were both olineman i trust they can pick up on good talent.

Althought I'm not sure if he (Munchak) had any say with Amano.

I'm starting to think we are going to draft a DT. It's a position we haven't addressed and is probably right now the biggest need.

We have two starting DE's, but only 1 DT (Casey), Klug and the rest of the guys i just don't think can hold up in the run game and provide pass disruption.

Hopefully we can land the right DT..I'm looking specfically at Cox and Still now. I was high on Poe but one of the other threads turned me off on him.

I'd be ok with taking Konz in the first if the following players are off of the board:

    - Whitney Mercilus
    - Devin Still
    - Quinton Couples
    - Nick Perry
    - Dentiri Poe
    - Courtney Upshaw
    - David DeCastro

When you look for offensive linemen you look for smarts. You can always get bigger stronger and faster, but hard to get inside a players head and change how he thinks. With that said, I wouldn't hate Konz at 20.

Pursuing Konz may be the only time I'd support trading back. It's shocking that he can only lift 225 18 times. That's very SenDerrick Marks like and that man is a joke.

That really hurt his draft stock. If he would of been able to do 25ish reps, his stock would of been locked in at mid1st/late 1st. Now he's slightly fallen to late 1st/early 2nd... teams think he doesn't have the elite strength to hold off DTs.
