The draft is about upgrading your roster with the best players possible. You don't want to have to be in a position of reaching for a player to fill a need. As long as you have all your starter spots filled then their is absolutely no reason to reach in the draft. You can build depth if needed via FA and camp cuts. So are we ready to draft BPA??? Starting Offense Hasselbeck CJ Britt Washington Cook Stevens Roos Harris Amano Hutchinson Stewart starting defense Wimbley Casey Klug Morgan Ayers McCarthy Witherspoon Verner McCourty Griffin Babineaux
As long as its best player available at OC, OG, DE, or DT i'd be ok with that. We need DL depth, and need a new starting center. There will be plenty of talent available at #20 in those two spots.
I think every defensive position is a possibilty. We certainly need depth across the board on defense. QB, RB, and OT are the only offensive spots I couldn't justify drafting if they were BPA. I think we are set up ok for BPA. With the new CBA and the fact that 1st rnders are signing shorter 4 yr contracts it is important to get your 1st rnder on the field quickly to get the value for him.
Yup, only if we sign Samuel. Free agents would be: Hutch - G Samuel - CB Wimbley - DE I think we go BPA for sure in with the first 2 picks, but in the 3rd we're going to need to grab a center. Unless, of course, we sign one but I think Koppen is the only guy out there worth a damn. 1st - BPA 2nd - BPA 3rd - David Molk/Phillip Blake
IF we get Asante and we go BPA my guess is we would look at OLB, Safety, and DL. I remember Munch saying he would rather get OL in later rounds so I just don't see us taking a C unless there in love with Konz.
