Anyone worried?

Successul teams are built in the draft. Look at last year, we picked up our franside qb, 2 stud LBs, and two stud DTs. Another solid year of drafting like that and we'll be on our way. The big thing is KEEPING our draftees.

 

Not worried. We spent the majority of the 1st part of FA focused on PM, which probably cost us a C, but we did upgrade 2 positions of need so I think overall we did pretty good thus far. At this point though all of the top FAs are gone. We could still find some quality guys, but since there aren't any big names left I think the FO is wanting to wait and see how the draft pans out before they really go hard after the remaining FAs. After the draft they will have a lot better feel for what holes we need to fill, and will probably be a little bit more aggressive at getting the guys we need in here.

 

Exactly. Something we're not known for...

 

Examples please, IMO, the Titans have done well in keeping players until they start to decline, it is a rare Titan FA that goes on to play at a high level with the next team.

 

I said we don't hold onto our draft picks (because we usually don't) but we have let good FA's go in the past...I know we didn't draft him, but:

Jason Babin (18 sacks last year) (our entire defense only manged 28 last year)

Finnegan, Tulloch, Odom, Haynesworth, (wanted $1 million more than was offered), Jacob Bell, for example. Then there are other players that we turned around like Vandenbosch (say what you want, Vandenbosch would have helped last season) and Babin. I could go on with this list, but I don't see the need to reach back any further.

I could live with that easier if we didn't give guys like Griffin top five salaries to run around the field aimlessly.

 

We had a great draft last year. I'm hoping this year's draft will produce some good depth at certain postions and a number #3 corner! I am even cool with putting Tommie at the #3 cb spot. I don't want any of the availabe CBs out there. I am willing to trade a 4th or lower for a starting center, cb, DT, and DE.
