Signing Manning would be the best thing for our defense. Do u forget hes the reason almost single handily takin a horrible def to the plays with 12 wins every year? Hed have a solid oline, Britt, Washington, Cook and whoever else we might bring in. Britt is a top 10 wr when healthy. Washington had 1000 yards WITHOUT Britt helping him get open.

The only knock on Manning is his health for playing again. Hes great for a reason. Brady missed a year and yes was a little rusty as first but he came back. Drew Brees was hurt but he came back. These players are great for a reason, they work hard and practice practice. Manning is a top 5 QB EVER. Injuries happen yes, but he has more upside to coming back the same then not. He would put points up on the board with sucha talented offense we wouldnt even need defense. But our D just has to be in the middle of the pack for us to go 14-2. He would have a MUCH MUCH MUCH better team here then he EVER had in Indy and i say that with 100% real.

Brady and Brees weren't trying to come back at age 36 though. Brady tore an ACL. That can possibly be career ending for a RB, WR, but not for a QB. Especially a qb that just sits in the pocket and throws. If Manning was coming back from an ACL I wouldn't be that concerned bc he is a statue anyway. But Manning had issues with his neck that not only kept him out for a year, but he couldn't even throw a football in his back yard for a long time.

And since when has it ever been a good idea to just ignore holes in FA, and just throw multiple draft picks at the same position instead. That is probably the dumbest way to build a team I have ever heard of.

Kamerion Wimbley, Wallace Gilberry , Brodrick Bunkley, Mark Anderson, gotta think we'll take a look at Dwight Freeney, Amobi Okoye, just for kicks Albert Haynesworth..

Obviously the sexy pickup isn't out there but really besides Abraham and Williams there weren't really any others out there and I doubt we pay 100 mil for Williams and I thought Abraham was going back to Atlanta all along.

We've still got 7 picks in the draft and we don't even know how much cap room we'll actually have if/when we get Peyton. Let's not cry wolf just yet

How? Our dline sucked dick last year and now we're losing ball and jones...For us to be fine we need Morgan to shed his bust title, Casey and Klug continue to overachieve, draft an immediate impact player in the first round and find some depth...That's a lot to go right...

All of that's true. But there weren't many options in free agency to begin with.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I really think we were hoping a guy like Cliff Avril would hit the market. But he got tagged. I just don't think Mario was ever a realistic possibility for us. And Abraham, while a very good player, is definitely on the downside of his career. Really who else was there to go after?

It's looking like we're going to fill that hole with an early draft pick. Which is what most of us have thought was going to be the case all along.
