and his name is John Elway.

Buyer beware Titans fans... The odds are not in your favor when getting a 36 year old quarterback. Becareful what you wish for... you might just get it.

As one member of this board once said... "It seems like the Titans routinely sign free agents past their prime so we can be the team that gives them their retirement watch."

As I asked in another thread... Let's say you get Manning and he sucks... (And he obviously does suck because we have a Daily Reminder thread) But he stays healthy? Who gets fired? I ask this because there was a fire Munchak/Palmer/Gray thread after everytime we lost a game... and I will bet the farm that a healthy/underperforming Manning would never be benched in favor of Jake Locker.

The Colts know things that we don't know... and it sucks because some of you homers can't take off the jailhouse orange blinders and realize that this deal reeks of "I'm trading in my broken down/barely running car for a new car and pawning the problem off on the next chump that sink money into it"

It's true guys, Bud Adams is the Al Davis of the east. Giving the guy who torched your organization for 10+ years a "Lifetime" contract? Where was Steve McNair's lifetime contract? Oh yeah.. a REAL Titan's legend gets locked out of the facility but the guy who is the sole reason for our team getting 2nd place in the division all of those seasons deserves a lifetime contract? And you guys wonder why I'm willing to leave the fanbase if the Titans sign Manning?
I'm 100% positive that VY's wonderlic score is higher than Bud Adams wonderlic score. The front office had the right idea on the direction of this franchise when they said they werent interested in Manning and they were happy with the direction of the franchise with hass and locker... Then the senile tightwad Bud Adams gets in the way of a professional/competant decision makers so he can have his way... How did that work out with Vince Young?

I don't even know why Reinfeldt even comes to work. If Bud is calling the shots, Reinfeldt is nothing more than an overpaid beancounter and paperpusher.

And no quarterback from the University of Washington has ever won a Superbowl. Guess we are screwed either way.

Comparing apples and oranges... but since you wanna get technical.. there's been plenty of Pac10/Pac12 quarterbacks to win superbowls

    Troy Aikman
    Aaron Rodgers

are a few off the top of my head

if you get to go against his argument by "grouping it by divisions", we get to group it by "qb's in their 30's who have won super bowls"

If I could ask Bud Adams one question:

Why didn't Steve McNair get a lifetime contract? He didn't deserve one?

It's not comparing apples to oranges, it's pointing out the fallacy of using history to predict the future.

Fact: Quarterbacks between age 30-34 are in their prime

35 and up.. past their prime.

    The stats back that up.

Prove me wrong... Find me quarterback past his prime not named John Elway that won a superbowl in the modern era of football

you realize only 27 QB's have won a superbowl ever...And one of them was Peyton Manning..

And out of the 27 I doubt many of them played/have played past 35..
