At no point did I say either of those things, nor do I plan to. I invite you to read my post again. Or maybe it would be more accurate to say for the first time.

I meant you said they were right to release those players.

I could have sworn I read the half a brain comment (not directed at me but something along the lines of "anyone with half a brain"... guess I'm just losing it today. My apologies.

Hey, no need to apologize. It's just a message board. I definitely don't get offended by anything around here.

Do you not think the Titans have been right in almost every decision they have made to let a player walk in recent years? I guess maybe it would still be nice to have Jason Babin, but that is debatable. I feel pretty sure that my statement was correct and the Titans record for letting players walk is almost impeccable. I won't argue that it may have hurt the team's reputation, though.

For the record, I think letting Finnegan walk is probably the wrong move, as most of us seem to. But I am just not willing to declare that I am right and the front office is wrong. The fact that they have been so brazen about not wanting him back makes me think they know something that none of us do. Maybe Finnegan's attitude is bad. Maybe his skills are declining. Maybe he has a drug suspension looming. Who knows. To me, though, it's telling that they are so sure that bringing him back would not be the right move that they didn't even offer him a lowball deal. That has to mean something.

At least, I am trying to convince myself that it means something, to take the sting out of losing Finnegan.

No, I do think most of the time they've been right. They haven't handled a lot of it right, but they've been right to release a lot of the people at the time. Although sometimes I wonder if it would have been worth it to keep the guys around. Wonder how things would've turned out if we had kept McNair and not drafted VY - realize we probably would have to cut others to make that happen.

All I was saying is right or not, the reputation is poor.

I agree that that's the perception, but I don't agree that letting Finnegan walk is contributing to that reputation. The front office was upfront with him about their desire to move on. How could they have handled it in a better way? It's not worth giving contracts to players the front office doesn't want on the team just to help turn around the reputation that the Titans don't take care of their own.

I think we are actually seeing the Titans try to address that reputation. They went after the guys they wanted to keep (Stevens and Hawkins) and got deals done. They haven't BSed the guys they don't want to keep (Finnegan and, presumably, Jason Jones) by lowballing them.

My hope is that players in the league are smart enough to see that the Titans are now a no-nonsense organization that will let you know exactly where you stand.

According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, Cortland Finnegan has been trying to recruit Vincent Jackson as a package deal in free agency, most likely to the Buccaneers.

I've been watching the Andre Johnson beat down at least once a day ever since I learned that Finnegan was such a greedy, self-entitled jerk. Real leaders don't overvalue themselves. Real leaders don't walk out of camp in a fit. Real leaders know that they are a piece of the puzzle.

    See ya, Finnegan. Good luck.

The Cowboys are off the Finnegan bandwagon after looking at tape and realizing that Finnegan is best suited to play the slot instead of outside.Ability may not equal his money demands

Damn you Fin...now I'm going to need a new jersey and favorite Titan. Sure as hell won't be CJ.

I'm thinking it's either Locker or McCarthy...depends on how they perform this season though.

Hell, the Titans website does not hardly have any. Look for McCourty as well.
