Coach Munchak knows what this team needs, he won't jump on the hype train and sign these bank breaking FA , this team was one play away from the playoffs even though they had some ugly showings, i truly believe he will pick an O-lineman early and wait for a good overlooked WR to fall into his lap , Jarius Wright,Joe Adams or maybe a WLB like Nigel Bradham from FSU, solid football players .

Depending on how we look after FAs I might be able to see a 5-7 rd WR.... But until than, no.

I'll bet my dog we don't take a wide receiver in the first round.

Because it's the realistic scenario. We're going to take one of those.

Grab Mario Williams and boom our pass rush is fixed, and oh another DL signing just to add some depth.

Now we can focus on CB, OG/C, and S. We could probably find a starter in free agency to help with the interior line but still drafting one early is a must, I'm thinking 2nd round. Now this leaves us with CB and S. If Finnegan is brought back or all of a sudden we're comfortable with McCourty and Verner/FA then go for Barron because his stock will dip because of his surgery. If we do need a corner then Janoris Jenkins would be available. Either way we add a difference maker in the back field while still getting OL help in the 2nd. In the 3rd and after that BPA.

Im not saying were taking a receiver in the first either, but i'm tired of talking about the same players over and over again. Almost everyone on this board is so stubborn and can't open up to other possibilities. Its nice to talk about other players than the same old guys and discuss the what ifs, and before that even happens almost every poster on here believe they are a part of the drafting process and know who we are going to draft.

The other thing I don't get is if we need certain positions why guys think those are the only ones we will draft. If those positions are weak or the better prospects are gone why should we draft them. You don't draft off of need you draft best player available.

Lately I've been looking more into the Upshaw scenario.... He can possibly be a real fit at 43 DE. Bigger lower half than Ingram, great bull rush move... Or he could play our WLB... Maybe a little of both. Would really open up our possible 34 look.

Anyone watched much donta Hightower? Scheme wise ilb, too stiff/slow to play OLB?

I'd be down for BPA... i'd love Kendall Wright. Britt + Nate + Wright... oh how deadly. We'd for sure need to man up on some FAs.

I would be all for the Cordy Glenn pick. The great thing that he gives you is that you can immediately plug him in at OG and then once Stewart's contract is up he can slide over to RT. For a big man he has great feet. Just wish he had a little more nasty in him.

I hope via FA we can get to the point where BPA is how we can go.

I really doubt we go WR, but I would have no problem if that is who we feel is BPA. I think you have to be elite on onside of the ball or the other to be yearly playoff team. I think we are closer on offense than defense. One of the best ways to help your defense is by having an offense that controls the game and puts up tons of points.

If we draft Upshaw, Ingram or Nick Perry then it tells me we are going to play a bunch of hybrid defense. Those guys are more 3-4 OLBers than 4-3DEs.

What do you guys think was our worst position last year?

I saw we shoot for that in the draft"
Peter Konz allows us to upgrade twice: center and gaurd. Now CJ is back to getting holes: 3x upgraded.

I think if we can nail that pick and get Merciless in the 2nd we would have the best draft for the 2nd year in a row.
