So... I wouldn't be posting this if not for two things:

    1) I watched him play for 2 years when people were calling him the next Eric Berry or better.

    2) This is UT country and I figure some of you guys have atleast seen him play.

IMO, he's a baller, and given questionable saftey play... I feel like the FO could show interest.

He's looking like a 6th or 7th rounder, and I can promise that if he is still there in the 6th, there won't be a more of a freakish athlete on the board.

Great instincts and hits like a 9 pound hammer.

"character concerns" are his anchor, but listen to an interview. There clearly won't be any off the field issues.

Crossed the line with his behavior at UT. Don't want him at any cost.

... Family issues kept him from practice. I'm not saying he shouldn't have been let go. I mean, you can't just not be with your team for 3 months. Then the whole drug test thing, But... it's not like he beat up a cop in bar's parking lot. lol

There's the cop thing, the thing where he was sitting in the car during the armed robbery thing, the other unsolved armed robberies that night with similar suspects, the alleged stealing from a kid in a children's hospital thing, etc, etc, etc.

Don't really know what happened in any of it, but I felt a little safer living in Knoxville once he got sent home. Cannot, will not root for the guy.

IMO he is worth the risk at a 6th round pick. If he acts up, cut ties with him and it's only a sixth rounder lost. Rewards outweigh the risks here

My only concern is the reason why he was dismissed from UT, for multiply counts of substance abuse. You give a guy like that some money and you all know what happens. The talent is definitely their, that's not the question. Do you guys really think he is a changed player?

Too many knocks to take the risk. You could get a good player who isn't addicted to drugs with your 6th round pick. A 6th round pick isn't some worthless commodity.

Worth signing as a UDFA maybe. Not worth using a draft pick on him.

Since 1999 our 6th round draft picks:

    Darren Hall
    Robaire Smith
    Adam Haayer
    Dan Alexander
    Justin Hartwig
    Troy Fleming
    Bo Scaife
    Jonathan Orr
    Ryan Smith
    Jacob Ford
    Joel Filani
    Dominique Edison
    Jason McCourty
    Rusty Smith
    Myron Rolle
    Bryon Stingly

Only two MAYBE three have contributed to this team in a significant way. He is worth the risk

P.S. here is a good article on him http://www.dailycomet.com/article/20120211/OPINION01/120219901?p=1&tc=pg

The 6th round draft picks made previously (by different GMs, even) have no statistical relevance to future 6th round draft picks. Way too small of a sample size.

If you look across the board at all 6th round draft picks in the league, most never amount to anything. Some end up as Pro Bowlers. It's not a pick that you just throw away for a wish and a prayer. You use it to get the best player possible.
