you have absolutely no way of knowing that.

The whole discussion was based on only if he were 100% healthy. I don't think anyone wants a damaged good Peyton Manning.

Know what the word "may" means? I think the chances of him not ever being 100% ever again is pretty high right now. But I think some here would take Manning at 75% or less because he's Manning.

No one here has any way of knowing he'll ever be 100% either. His own doc said it could be between 2 months and a year. That tells me they don't know much with any certainty.

I'd take Manning at 90% because I know that is much better than 100% Hasselbeck.

    It's a simple calculation.

    A) It's not our money, so who cares. We're going to be way under the cap anyway, this team never spends to the upper limit.

    B) Peyton has significantly more to offer than Hasselbeck if he is even close to healthy.

    C) Locker sitting on the bench for two more years is a GOOD thing. He is still innacurate, and while exciting he needs to develop good habits before he gets thrown in live action and gets locked into any bad ones.

It is a no brainer. If Peyton will come here, you bring him in. If he gets hurt, you put Locker in and see what he's got. If Peyton is successful, well maybe Locker has to wait a little while longer. But that only happens if Peyton is helping you contend for a Super Bowl, so there is literally no negative attached to it.

Some of you keep preaching the "big picture" as the main argument to not bring Peyton in....Well you've got to realize for Bud Adams there is no big picture. He needs to win a ring sooner rather than later.

I really can't see him saying no to Peyton Manning if he checks out physically..Can't see most GM's saying no to that. He's the exception to all the rules against signing a QB..

If Manning is 100% healthy the Colts don't get rid of him.

    I don't think that's true at all.

I think the Colts want to go a new direction that does not include a QB/OC like Manning. I think they want a cheap rookie deal for Luck so they can spend on other areas of the team. jmo of course.

If the Colts think Peyton can be close to the same QB he was before, and Peyton wants to remain in Indy, then they'll renegotiate his contract to lessen that $28M bonus and push most of it into next season when they'll know, for certain, his health status.

If his doctor is saying "two months to a year", then Peyton doesn't know yet either. By March, none of this changes, IMO.

And the very reasons the Colts don't want him is the same the Titans shouldn't. You don't want to pump so much of your cap into one position and ignore others. You don't bet the future on something that is this risky.

For those of you who are content with a 80% Manning, Rodgers was the best with the top set of WRs in the league this season. They lost because they're defense sucked. Unless the Titans improve their defense and fix their running game, they'll never go deep into the playoffs regardless of who is QB.

Actually the Packers lost because they couldn't catch a cold that game.

I stand by the fact that the Packers were the best team this season. Everybody has a bad day, the Packers just had theirs in the playoffs......and against Kansas City.

But you bring up some good points. If Manning is indeed healthy enough to play well this season, we need to atleast throw him a competitive offer.
