Tons of family who live in Michigan. They have dialect as well. Basing perceptions on regional dialect is sign of closed minded-ness imo.

People talk about the Big East losing their AQ status... The ACC is even worse than the Big East!

Mountain West, top to bottom, is better than Big East and ACC combined... Those two conferences are awful.... but dont worry.. UTjr fans will be the first ones to brag about their win over a Big East team this year.

Actually it's a sign of insecurity as in critizing something because it is different. It can be manifested out of deep seeded fear of the unknown or unfamiliar.

    I don't think I shared my store....

I live in Knoxville. I went out for lunch Tuesday and to catch a bit of the end of Penn State football as I know it. Most of the people at the bar had their UT gear. They were cheering on South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia. At the point where Florida and SC win, the entire bar starts to chant, "S-E-C, S-E-C, S-E-C, S-E-C".

It made me want to punch people in the face. Your team was 1-7. You lost to a losing team without a quarterback. Your win came from a touchdown that didn't happen. ...and you are celebrating wins by the team that you've hated the most for the last few decades and by your nemisis coach that moved away from here to beat you and make fun of you. That should not be a proud moment in UT football.

There is a big difference between a rival and someone you hate. Besides is just a game. Sheess!
I also wouldn't advise starting a fight with a bunch of fired up fans after they been drinking.
    Outta this silly thread!

I heard they put a new plaque on the entrance of Neyland stadium:

Let's cheer for all the teams that whoop our @s$e$!

First, as a Titans fans, I can barely stomach watching the playoffs when the Titans are out. I may quietly watch and may even root for a rival, but I'm not high fiving anyone or celebrating or chanting anything.

Secondly, those teams playing on New Year's hurts UT. Seing guys make plays on television and then celebrating and saying high to their family on the sidelines makes people want to be a part of that. Hearing Todd McShay talk about the guys going pro on ESPN that morning makes people want to be a part of that. Success for their rivals makes it more difficult for UT.

It just doesn't make sense. I don't remember it being like this when I was a kid and UT was relevant. Hell, two kids in my high school class went to Alabama and one kid went to Florida to play football and the community shunned all of them. How are you going to burn a family's yard for their kid going to Florida, then turn around and root for that team? All because in some twisted indirect way it helps validate your team.

I watched the Lesner / Corwin fight on UFC Unleashed

After Lesner came back and got the submission the crowd was chanting UFC - UFC - UFC

not sure where the fight was but Im betting it was not in a SEC city

possibly crowds just like chanting nowadays
