yeah i dont think i was putting casey down in any way, i like him too. I rather reserve judgment on him being a gem at this point in his career, especially since stat wise nothing was eye popping, but I do like the upside.

yeah i was mistaken there. when i say slot I tend to think of it as "the third corner" ... finny is clearly not the "third" corner out of the 3 I listed.

If theres Calvin Johnson lined up as the only WR, Finny should be the "one" covering him, not verner.

If theres 2 cornerbacks lined up on the outside, I guess I was mistaken and figured the slot was the inside guy (otherwise the 3rd corner or fastest corner - thats usually how it worked "on the madden ps3" games I used to play back in the day so many years ago lol ...

so yeah i was wrong about the terminology there, thats just how I characterized it. Finny is the #1 corner though in my mind, where he plays inside, outside, slot, 1 on 1 it doesnt matter - i dont get too overly concerned about the terminology of it.

im hearing a lot of people bring this guy up as our 1st round pick, will he be there @ 20? A lot of the safties it seems as of late havent worked out like Taylor Mays but as long as this Barron guy isnt just a hard-hitter and can actually tackle people, unlike griff than ill be happy with it

I understand it's early but I think 52 tackles for a DT is pretty eye popping. Think about it, the last year Haynesworth played for the Titans and everyone called him "the most dominant DL in football", he had 51 tackles playing the exact same role/position. Difference is Haynesworth had 8.5 sacks and Casey only had 2.5. But I'm fine with Casey not being a big sack guy if he keeps putting up 50+ tackles; that means he's a force in the run game on the middle of that line.

What about David DeCastro in the first round? We're in desperate need of at least one new G and most mocks have him going around 20th.

yeah those sacks were partly due to washburn being a good, aggressive d-line coordinator and vanden bosch freeing up haynesworth through the middle at times. so if we got a better pass rusher on the outside then yeah i really will get excited for what casey can do - but yeah until then i cant see morgan and jones being that dominate

damn i wish - i been seeing mocks were hes not lasting that long. especially since im hearing hes the #1 rated o-line prospect, i dont know a scenario hed last that deep into the 1st round but im holding onto hope!

Baltimores defense are seriously overrated. They've met 1 top10 offense this year (Chargers), which blew them away.

They met the following ranking offenses:
    12,17,31,25,13,32,19,12,28,20,26,29,30,6,29,20

DeCastro would be brilliant but I dont invisage him being there at 20. As far RG go I think he is the best prospect to come out in years. He has it all and if he's there at 20 it would be a no brainer.

If not I think Zeitler is a great guy to get in the 2-3rd round he is a brutal Running guard, which is what we need.

I think Konz is a good prospect, but I don't think he's worth the 20th pick, Brewster and Jones will both be available in the 2-3rd round.

So in my opinion, DeCastro is the best move for us if not, BPA on defense-

You have to draft a guy with the name "Rambo". He just has to be good. :D

But I think if we did go D in the first we have to shoot for a DL. I really believe that dominance starts upfront. A dominant DL can hide a lot of other flaws in the defense. A good Secondary can't really hide much at all.

Verner is our 3rd CB, but when he's in, Cortland slides inside as the nickle mainly cause Cortland is versatile, and because Verner is slow. He needs the sideline to hide his lack of speed.

We need 3-4 CB's if we're going to stay good all year.

Mark Barron in the first would make sense if you want a SS. Its a VERY weak safety class. So I have the feeling that once the first safety goes the next best one will go in the next 3-4 picks. If we wait till round 2 then we're risking not getting the guy we want.

Barron will go in the 1st, Martin will shortly after(early second). Rambo will stay if hes smart. Do you reach on a Harrison Smith in the second? If we dont he might go early late 2nd early 3rd.

I know that we cant predict the draft, but you can kinda get a feel by looking at team needs in comparison to your pick number. My point is Barron is the best Safety IMO so lets grab him with the first if hes there.

I know a lot of people hate the idea of drafting someone and switching their position, but CB and S are so similar I don't think it would be that big of a change to draft a CB to play S. I think that's actually what we did with Griff. CB is a little more deep in the draft, so I'd be for taking someone like Claiborne from LSU or Kirkpatrick from Alabama to play safety if they were willing to do it.
