Lakers about to get Chris Paul, still trying to get Dwight Howard as well.

I like CP3 more but also know he's more valuable to the Lakers than Howard would be.

Lakers need a PG desperately. It's been the reason for their recent struggles.

We don't need a center. We have 2 players down low just as good as Howard.

Howard has never been near as good as people say he is though. A post player without a post-move is pretty useless deep in the season.

    1. PG's are a dime a dozen today and Howard is the ONLY center left you can consider elite, hell, the next best center you probably can't even consider really good, just good.

    2. You saw Gasol in the playoffs, he's too soft and won't scare anyone in the postseason...and he's on the wrong side of 30. Bynum's health will always be in question.

    3. Howard doesn't have any post moves? Dude, this ain't 04 when he was a rookie, you obviously didn't watch him play last year. He developed post moves after working with The Dream just like Kobe did. Lol you know LeBron also sought Hakeem out last summer, let's just see how great of a teacher The Dream really is. :)

Howard's offensive game took a big leap last year. He's easily the most dominant center in the league and it's not even close.

I get why the Lakers would go after him. Bynum has never been healthy come the post-season and Howard is a 20 rebound 15 point night waiting to happen every game.

Howard could average 30 and 15 but doesn't because of Orlando's three trigger system.

Thing is- IF Bynum is healthy, he's better than Howard. He's actually a legit Center while Howard isn't.

As for PGs being a dime a dozen...wish that were the case or the lakers wouldn't be stuck with Fisher and Steve Blake.

Dwight did improve a lot on his post game this past season, I'll give him that. He still only dominates the worst teams and vanishes against any half-decent big man.

At this point is there anything to make you think Bynum will ever be healthy? He might be this season because of the shortened year, but he's been hurt every single championship run they've attempted since he's been drafted.

Is Howard ever going to be able to knock down a 12-foot jump shot or sky-hook with regularity? Probably not. Will Howard be there dominating the boards and defending the paint when they need him in the playoffs? Absolutely.

And lets be honest, the Lakers never featured Bynum's offensive skills the way they should have, so 16 points a game from their center is something they will be able to live with if he's a dominant defender/rebounder.

    1. No he's not, you can't based that off a glimpse of potential lol. Sure, Bynum would most likely be a great center if healthy but your claim is a stretch, that's like me saying Greg Oden would be the best center right now if healthy. And when the hell is Bynum healthy for more than a week.

How is Howard not a legit center?

    2. That is the case, the Lakers are just about the only team without a good point guard. Sure, who wouldn't want CP3, but my point is if it came down to Howard or CP3, I think Howard would make the Lakers a better team, you already have Kobe to dominate the ball.

    3. He vanishes against any half-decent big man? Uhh, source? You making sh*t up now lol

CP3 made guys like Tyson Chandler look good. The lobs to Bynum/Gasol would be epic. Kick outs to Kobe?... insane.

Howard isn't a legit Center for a couple reasons. He's under 7 ft for starters. He has very few post moves. And he can't play against players with size effectively. He butters stats on teams with no one down low.

Bynum probably wont stay healthy- but I dont say that based on potential. He's just a better center when in game than Howard is. He blocks shots better, has better post moves, etc.

    ^Decent article about said topic.

Dwight has never impressed me though. He's a great athlete. He's a funny guy. That's about all I can say about him.

Pretty sure I remember Howard dominating Gasol/Bynum last year. I'll give you this though... Howard does play move more like a 4 and Bynum is more of a true center with better post moves, probably the best 7 footer post player in the league. But I hope you're not implying Bynum is the bigger defensive force, no one alters more shots than Howard.

I'm not a Bynum hater, when healthy and used in a system that allows him to be the go to guy, his numbers would be up there with Howard's, and although he's not the defensive monster Howard is, he protects the paint pretty well. But again, health is the most important stat... Just ask Yao Ming, injuries kept him from being the best center in the last decade.

Yeah. And I don't expect him to stay healthy... why should anyone?

Never really liked Dwight's game though. He's a stat monster vs weak teams, but usually does little to nothing vs decent bigs.
