All Young had to do was keep it cool between the ears and he could have let Fisher hang himself. That's my beef with the die hard Vince walks on water people. It's all Fisher's fault... bs. You make your own luck. Vince screwed up here and Fisher ran out of chances. Each circumstance is independent of the other. Cain never admitted responsibility to killing Able. It's basically the same crap.

^ If he would have gotten in Fisher's face during office hours instead of throwing his pads in the seats/cussing him out in the locker room, I would have had no problem with it.

That's the kind of $#!t that got him out of Tennessee. That can't be legitimately justified. If it were not for that episode and others like it I'd be glad to have Vince Young here. He never was the man in Tennessee that he appears to have become in Philadelphia.

It isn't ALL fishers fault. But it is partly fishers fault.

Watch the games and you can see how much of a leash VY was on. Even when he had a near 100 rating Fisher wouldn't let him loose. The evidence is in the countless 3rd and longs where we ran the ball (despite VY's clear effectiveness on 3rd downs), or the numerous games where he only got 18-22 attempts.

In 2009 and 2010 combined where Vince was Clearly a different player after sitting the bench a year, he had 30 attempts in just 2 games! He's got just as many in his first 2 games as an eagle!

You wanna put that in perspective? in 2 years under Fisher (with a 83 and 99 rating) VY was only given 30 attempts twice, other qbs:

    Kyle Orton 2010, 11 Times
Blaine Gabbert rookie season 2011, 3 Times
Kerry Collins 2010 UNDER JEFF FISHER, 5 TIMES (In 6 STARTS)

No one is gonna convince me that the 3 guys listed above are by any means a better passer than Vince Young. Its clear evidence that Fisher never wanted VY and never gave him the oppurtunities to succeed.

and the devil made me do it.

Look, if Young is all that you say in terms of potential (and I'm inclined to agree), I don't care how short of a perceived "leash" there is, it doesn't excuse his personal behavior. Like I said before, if he remained cool and persevered he would have outlived Fisher. Others would have picked up on what you are noting and there would have been an eventual coaching change. VY didn't have to go in exile. He chose it for himself. It's his own doing. Fisher being a crappy coach doesn't make Vince blameless.

in short, Vince became the problem, of his own volition.

for clarification... there's no parts to a whole here.

Fisher is at fault for his own failings.
Young is at fault for his own failings.

Fisher is not "partly" to blame for Young's failings.

Fisher isn't at fault for VY's failings as a teammate off the field, but on the field he was definitely holding VY back.

Well, I guess that's his prerogative. It wasn't personal and to suggest so by making absolute statements such as, "He never wanted Vince" is ridiculous. If he wanted to run the ball and play defense and squeak by on special teams... then so be it. That's his right. Vince Young had no place being a punk beotch about it. Fisher was just trying to win the best way he knew how. Sadly, it just wasn't good enough.

In reality, Fisher never would have done it, but a big what if... I wonder if Fisher would have done with VY and CJ what Fox is doing with Tebow, how that would have played out...

Quit crying about him quitting. If he really "quit, the team wouldn't have made him captain twice after that......

Compare Vince's 2007 to hasselbeck's 2010....one was in their second year and the about eight years deep.
